Influence of core yarn structure and yarn count on yarn elastic properties

This work aims to compare the effects of different yarn structures on the elastic properties. A new type of elastic core-spun yarn which is called tri-core (elastane/T400/elastane) yarn is introduced and tested for elastic properties after cyclic loading.

The Effect of Cotton Yarn Properties on Yarn End Breakage

In this work the effect of cotton yarn properties on yarn end breakage was investigated. The yarn nominal linear densities were 20, 25 and 36 tex and each of them had three levels of twists. Following yarn properties were investigated: linear density, twists, tensile strength, elongation at break and irregularity.

A paper yarn is recently spotlighted as a new textile material due to its inherent excellent properties such as antibiotic, deodorant, moisture retaining, and absorbency-quick drying properties. However, its poor flexibility and low elongation cause some disadvantages of cut-off and difficulty in tension control in the knitting process.

Properties of Blend Yarns

Two properties of blended yarns are of high importance from the wearer's point of view: aesthetic appearance and elastic recovery. To predict the appearance of yarn after it is dyed in finished goods, a method is proposed that con sists of dyeing yarn in the laboratory with a dye of different affinity to component fibers.

Softness of Cotton Yarns as Affected by Fiber and Yarn Properties

Yarn softness is evaluated quantitatively as the percent increase in yarn width under a definite lateral force. Single-yarn softness decreases with twist and increases with yarn number and fiber maturity. With the above parameters constant, softness has no relation to fiber linear density.

Effect of Fiber/Yarn Variables on Mechanical Properties of Spliced Yarn

Pneumatic splicing was examined for various yarns spun from different fibers on different spinning systems. The retention properties of the spliced yarns compared to normal yarn are discussed; the results indicate that wet splicing gives better property retention than dry splicing.
