Temperature Dependent Motions of N‐Terminal Loop in PD‐1 Determine the Affinity Towards Nivolumab

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Recognition, Volume 39, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Programmed Cell Death—1 receptors on the surface of monocytes and T and B cells modulate various immune responses and are key immunotherapy targets. Immunotherapeutic monoclonal antibodies, including Nivolumab, block the activity of this receptor and are a mainstay of cancer therapy.

Small molecules as arthropod kinin receptor antagonists, feeding modulators, or novel mosquitocidal agents

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6842-6863, July 2026.
A two‐pronged screen of small molecules – (1) on recombinant kinin receptor and (2) through topical application – identifies kinin receptor antagonists, feeding behavior modulators, and new mosquitocidal molecules. Abstract BACKGROUND Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes are primary vectors for numerous human and animal pathogens and ...

WDTC1 Haploinsufficiency as a Cause of Neurodevelopmental Phenotypes

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 110, Issue 1, Page 29-35, July 2026.
In seven individuals heterozygous for loss‐of‐function or conserved missense variants, we demonstrate that loss of WDTC1 function causes a neurodevelopmental syndrome characterized by developmental delay, intellectual disability, and seizures.

Behavioural and fitness effects of experimental immune activation during incubation in a wild passerine

open access: yesIbis, Volume 168, Issue 3, Page 934-949, July 2026.
Incubation is vital for avian embryo development but demands significant parental investment, potentially at the cost of self‐maintenance and immune function. For example, the acute phase response (APR), a systemic reaction against inflammation, infection or tissue injury, can trigger sickness behaviours such as reduced activity and foraging.
