A quantum yield map for synthetic eumelanin [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005
The quantum yield of synthetic eumelanin is known to be extremely low and it has recently been reported to be dependent on excitation wavelength. In this paper, we present quantum yield as a function of excitation wavelength between 250 and 500nm, showing it to be a factor of 4 higher at 250nm than at 500nm.

Yield Mapping in Precision Farming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Spatial variability of yield is very important in precision farming. With a yield monitor system installed on combine harvester, the yield data can be collected automatically while harvesting. In this paper, the component and the working theory of the yield monitor system were introduced.

Yield Mapping of Vegetable Crops [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1997
Over the past few years, grain yield monitors have gained a significant hold in the market place. While the largest share of production agriculture acres are devoted to producing grain crops, high-value crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, sugarbeets, onions, and many others will benefit considerably by application of site-specific technology.

Development of Willow Tree Yield-Mapping Technology [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2020
With today’s environmental challenges, developing sustainable energy sources is crucial. From this perspective, woody biomass has been, and continues to be, a significant research interest. The goal of this research was to develop new technology for mapping willow tree yield grown in a short-rotation forestry (SRF) system.

Genetic dissection of yield and its component traits using high-density composite map of wheat chromosome 3A: bridging gaps between QTLs and underlying genes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Earlier we identified wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) chromosome 3A as a major determinant of grain yield and its component traits. In the present study, a high-density genetic linkage map of 81 chromosome 3A-specific markers was developed to increase the ...

QTL Analysis of Morpho-Agronomic Traits in Garden Asparagus (Asparagus officinalis L.)

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2022
In order to understand the genetic control of quantitative agronomic traits in garden asparagus, we performed a quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis. A population (n = 167) derived from a cross between a female and male plants was evaluated for morpho ...

Cropping Practices and Effects on Soil Nutrient Adequacy Levels and Cassava Yield of Smallholder Farmers in Northern Zambia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, 2021
Cassava is a staple food and a major source of income for many smallholder farmers. However, its yields are less than 6 t ha−1 compared to a potential yield of 20–25 t ha−1 in Zambia. Understanding cropping practices and constraints in cassava production

SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION IN A DRY ONION FIELD (A PRECISION FARMING APPLICATION IN TURKEY) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2006
Objective of this study is to determine spatial variability in a dry onion fi eld and to produce a management strategy which is based on spatial variability of yield and soil components. The onion fi eld properties were determined and given in maps. Soil
