Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Yield Diagnosis and Tuning for Emerging Semiconductors During Research Stage

open access: yesIEEE Access
The process of taking a new semiconductor device from the lab to the factory involves a lot of time, funds and manpower, a large portion of which is spent on device yield improvement.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Sensor-Based Bermudagrass Yield Prediction Models Using Random Forest Algorithm in Oklahoma

open access: yesAgronomy
The current available direct and indirect forage biomass estimation methods are prohibitive for producers because they are labor-intensive and time-consuming.

Forecasting Mango and Citrus Production in Nigeria: A Trend analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper provides the prediction of future production of citrus and mango in the medium term up to 2010. The prediction was based on the assumptions that past trends (area planted and yield) and existence of normal weather pattern will hold. Time trend

Prediction of Strawberry Fruit Yield

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Scandinavica, Section B - Soil & Plant Science, 2001
Data from commercial strawberry production in two districts of Norway were studied and compared with meteorological data. Reliable data for Trondelag (1973–;2000) and Valldal (1975)–;2000) were used. A strong correlation between yield level and fungicide used against Botrytis cinerea was found for Valldal, but not for Trondelag.

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Assembly and analysis of fragmentation data for liquid propellant vessels [PDF]

open access: yes
Fragmentation data was assembled and analyzed for exploding liquid propellant vessels. These data were to be retrieved from reports of tests and accidents, including measurements or estimates of blast yield, etc.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...
