Titanium-Based Biomaterials for Preventing Stress Shielding between Implant Devices and Bone

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biomaterials, 2011
β-type titanium alloys with low Young's modulus are required to inhibit bone atrophy and enhance bone remodeling for implants used to substitute failed hard tissue.

In Vivo Assessment of Lower Limb Muscle Stress State Based on Shear Wave Elastography

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This study aims to explore the possibility of assessing muscle stress state using shear wave elastography (SWE). Eight healthy males participated in the measurements, and the Young's modulus of 10 leg muscles of each participant were measured in six ...

Nanoindentation of a circular sheet of bilayer graphene

open access: yes, 2010
Nanoindentation of bilayer graphene is studied using molecular dynamics simulations. We compared our simulation results with those from elasticity theory as based on the nonlinear F\"{o}ppl-Hencky equations with rigid boundary condition.

Effect of High-Temperature Heat Treatment on the Acoustic-Vibration Performance of Picea jezoensis

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
The crystallinity and acoustic-vibration parameters of Picea jezoensis, including specific Young’s modulus (E/ρ),coefficient of sound-radiation resistance (R), sound resistance (ω), and the ratio of Young’s modulus to the dynamic stiffness modulus (E/G),

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Giant Young’S Modulus Variations in Ultrafine-Grained Copper Caused by Texture Changes at Post-Spd Heat Treatment / Gigantyczne Zmiany Modułu Younga W Ultra Drobnoziarnistej Miedzi Spowodowane Przez Zmiany Tekstury W Trakcie Obróbki Cieplnej Po SPD

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2015
The effect of annealing on dynamic Young’s modulus, E, of ultrafine-grained (UFG) copper obtained by combined severe plastic deformation (SPD) is investigated.

Harnessing elastic anisotropy to achieve low-modulus refractory high-entropy alloys for biomedical applications

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
A high-priority target in the design of new metallic materials for load-bearing implant applications is the reduction of Young’s modulus approximating that of cortical bone in the predominant loading direction.

YOUNG'S MODULUS OF Fe-Mn

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1983
Young's modulus of Fe1-xMnx alloys with 0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.9 has been measured as a function of temperature. A step type anomaly occurs at TN which is largest for Fe-rich alloys and a reduction in dE/dT below TN. For the alloy with x = 0.9 a high internal friction peak is found at TN and at -25 °C. The latter peak is attributed to a stress induced movement of
