A variational nonlinear Hausdorff-Young inequality in the discrete setting [PDF]
Following the works of Lyons and Oberlin, Seeger, Tao, Thiele and Wright, we relate the variation of certain discrete curves on the Lie group $\text{SU}(1,1)$ to the corresponding variation of their linearized versions on the Lie algebra.

Matrix Young numerical radius inequalities [PDF]
In the present paper, we show that if A ∈Mn(C) is a non scalar strictly positive matrix such that 1 ∈ σ(A) , and p > q > 1 with p + q = 1, then there exists X ∈ Mn(C) such that ω(AXA) > ω( p A pX + q XA q) . Moreover, several numerical radius inequalities are presented for Hilbert space operators.

ABSTRACT The Robodebt scheme issued thousand‐dollar debts to an estimated half a million people who had received social security. The debts were largely inaccurate and illegal, with the aim of improving the federal government's budget. The 2023 Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme found that the stigmatising political and public language about ...

ABSTRACT Over almost two decades, young people's employment opportunities have been significantly impacted by events like the Global Financial Crisis (2008–2009) and the COVID‐19 pandemic (2020‐). Thus, underemployment has become a more pervasive and persistent feature of young people's labour market experiences. This research focuses on three forms of

New results on composed variants of the Young integral inequality [PDF]
In this article, we contribute to the theory of integral inequalities by developing new composed variants of the Young integral inequality. The novelties include some convexity assumptions on the composition function, allowing the use of original tools ...

Using the notion of the truncated variation we obtain a new theorem on the existence and estimation of the Riemann-Stieltjes integral. As a special case of this theorem we obtain an improved version of the Lo\'{e}ve-Young inequality for the Riemann ...

Confessions of a Poverty Researcher: My Journey Through the Foothills of Scholarship
ABSTRACT This paper describes the key events, experiences and ideas that influenced the author's career as a poverty researcher. He describes how his early disillusion with economics was replaced by a spark of interest in social issues and how his migration from the UK to Australia in the mid‐1970s provided the impetus to begin what became a lifetime ...

ABSTRACT Disability support has shifted towards models of personalised care, which critics argue may contribute to increased inequalities. There is limited systematic evidence investigating inequalities in support among children with disabilities. To investigate inequalities in support, a survey of parents of children with disabilities aged 2–17 was ...

ABSTRACT Australia's Robodebt scheme, an automated debt recovery program introduced in 2016, was exposed by the Robodebt Royal Commission (RC) as a serious failure of public administration and source of significant harm for thousands of Australians. Through a critical discourse analysis (CDA) of Australian news media, this study explores whether the RC'

In this work, we first introduce the two-sided quaternion Fourier transform and demonstrate its essential properties. We generalize Titchmarsh’s-type theorem in the framework of the two-sided quaternion Fourier transform. Based on the interaction between
