Mid-infrared interferometry of massive young stellar objects. I. VLTI and Subaru observations of the enigmatic object M8E-IR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
[abridged] Our knowledge of the inner structure of embedded massive young stellar objects is still quite limited. We attempt here to overcome the spatial resolution limitations of conventional thermal infrared imaging.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Swift/UVOT Photometry of the Planetary Nebula WeBo 1: Unmasking A Faint Hot Companion Star [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present an analysis of over 150 ks of data on the planetary nebula WeBo 1 (PN G135.6+01.0) obtained with the Swift Ultraviolet Optical Telescope (UVOT). The central object of this nebula has previously been described as a late-type K giant barium star

The role of fibroblast growth factors in cell and cancer metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling regulates crucial signaling cascades that promote cell proliferation, survival, and metabolism. Therefore, FGFs and their receptors are often dysregulated in human diseases, including cancer, to sustain proliferation and rewire metabolism.

An HST/NICMOS view of the prototypical giant HII region NGC604 in M33 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present the first high-spatial resolution near-infrared (NIR) imaging of NGC 604, obtained with the NICMOS camera aboard the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). These NICMOS broadband images reveal new NIR point sources, clusters, and diffuse structures. We

BST1047+1156: A (Failing) Ultradiffuse Tidal Dwarf in the Leo I Group

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We use deep Hubble Space Telescope imaging to study the resolved stellar populations in BST1047+1156, a gas-rich, ultradiffuse dwarf galaxy found in the intragroup environment of the Leo I galaxy group.

Mid-infrared interferometry towards the massive young stellar object CRL 2136: inside the dust rim [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Context. Establishing the importance of circumstellar disks and their properties is crucial to fully understand massive star formation. Aims. We aim to spatially resolve the various components that make-up the accretion environment of a massive young ...

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Mid-infrared interferometry of the massive young stellar object NGC3603 - IRS 9A

open access: yes, 2010
We present observations and models for one of these MYSO candidates, NGC3603 IRS 9A. Our goal is to investigate with infrared interferometry the structure of IRS 9A on scales as small as 200AU, exploiting the fact that a cluster of O and B stars has ...
