Grapevine grafting has become an essential practice in viticulture and over the years various bench grafting techniques have evolved to mechanize the nursery process and to increase the yield in number of viable cuttings. Bench grafting is a fundamental nursery practice that affects the quality of propagation material also in young decline associated ...

Little information is presently available on the disease aetiology and epidemiology of the fungi involved in the decline of young vines. To address this question, four rootstock-scion combinations, originating from three commercial nurseries in the Wellington area of the Western Cape Province of South Africa were investigated during the 1999/2000 ...

Plant Disease
Grapevine trunk diseases are caused by a broad diversity of fungal taxa that have serious impacts on the worldwide viticulture industry due to significant reductions in vineyards yield and lifespan. Field surveys carried out from 2018 to 2022 in California nurseries and young vineyards revealed a high incidence of Fusarium.
