Clinical Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Digital Peroral Cholangioscopy‐Guided Lithotripsy for Difficult Bile Duct Stones

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Peroral cholangioscopy‐guided lithotripsy (POCS‐L) has emerged as a treatment option for difficult bile duct stones (DBDSs), but detailed evidence remains limited. This study evaluated its effectiveness, safety, and risk factors for adverse events (AEs).

INDICATION OF THE BIOCHEMICAL TARGETS OF RARE EARTH ELEMENTS IN BIVALVE MOLLUSCS UNDER MULTIPLE EXPOSURE [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnologia Acta
Rare earth elements (REE) are considered the pollutants of priority, and biological effects are studied poorly. Aim. Our study was devoted to the elucidation of suspected biochemical effects of two representative REEs, gadolinium (Gd) and yttrium (Y),

Liebig Review: Essential and Beneficial Elements in the Regulation of Cadmium Uptake and Tolerance in Crop Plants

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cadmium (Cd2+) contamination in agricultural soils has been reported to pose risks to crop productivity, food safety, and human health. This review synthesizes current knowledge on the mechanisms by which essential (S, Zn, Fe, Mg, K, Ca) and beneficial (Si, Se, rare earth elements) elements mitigate Cd2+ toxicity in plants.

In-situ polymerization organic-inorganic hybrid materials monomer casting polyamide 6/ nanorods yttrium hydroxide

open access: yes, 2012
Single crystalline Y(OH)3 nanorods were synthesized from Y2O3 powder by a simple hydrothermal synthesis method under alkaline conditions. SEM images displayed that the nanorods have average diameters of about 400nm and lengths up to several micrometers ...

Dimeric yttrium(III) and neodymium(III) macrocyclic complexes: potential catalysts for hydrolysis of double-stranded DNA

open access: yes, 2001
Dimeric complexes of macrocycle L, [{ML(OH)(H2O)}2](NO3)4 where M = Y and Nd, have been prepared via template synthesis. X-Ray structural analysis of [{YL(OH)(H2O)}2]4+ showed each yttrium atom to be coordinated to six nitrogens in the macrocycle, two ...

High‐Efficiency Phosphor Thin Films With Controlled Lateral Displacement for Low Color Crosstalk in Micro‐LED Displays

open access: yesJournal of the Society for Information Display, EarlyView.
High‐efficiency nano‐phosphor thin films were developed for micro‐LED color conversion, achieving high quantum efficiency and reduced lateral photon displacement. The optimized film structure effectively suppresses color crosstalk and enables high‐performance, full‐color micro‐LED displays.

Fast Monte Carlo Simulation of ⁹⁰Y Bremsstrahlung using a Kernel-based Photon Source

open access: yes, 2011
In targeted radionuclide therapy using ⁹⁰Y, bremsstrahlung photons can be used for imaging and subsequently for absorbed dose estimation. Monte Carlo simulation is a reliable method to study bremsstrahlung imaging but it takes a long computation time as ...

Management of Satellite Lesions in Hepatocellular Carcinoma: An Updated Review

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Satellite lesions, defined as microscopic or small macroscopic tumor nodules within 2 cm of a primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), represent early intrahepatic dissemination and are strongly associated with aggressive tumor biology.

Three‐Dimensional Optical Characterization of Magnetostrictive Deformation in Magnomechanical Systems

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
An optical approach is proposed for real‐time and high‐precision detection of the magnetostrictive deformation of an yttrium‐iron‐garnet sphere in three dimensions, based on the deformation induced spatial high‐order modes of the scattered field, postselection, and balanced homodyne detection.
