A minimally invasive, transepithelial corneal cross‐linking (TE‐CXL) approach is presented using upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs)‐loaded contact lenses (UCLs), after topical delivery of hyaluronate–riboflavin conjugates. The NIR‐to‐UV/blue light conversion by UCNPs in a UCL can activate riboflavin for TE‐CXL, resulting in the biomechanical strength ...

X-Ray Induced Light Emission of Yttrium Oxide
The paper presents the experimental results of light radiation from Y2O3 ceramics caused by X-rays with energy up to 50 keV. The samples were made from commercial Y2O3 nanopowder by pressing and subsequent sintering in air at different temperatures from ...

The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

A first-principles study of helium storage in oxides and at oxide--iron interfaces [PDF]
Density-functional theory calculations based on conventional as well as hybrid exchange-correlation functionals have been carried out to study the properties of helium in various oxides (Al2O3, TiO2, Y2O3, YAP, YAG, YAM, MgO, CaO, BaO, SrO) as well as at

Versatile Gasochromic Hydrogen Detection via Supraparticle‐Based Applied Composite Materials
Silica‐platinum‐resazurin supraparticles are embedded into PMMA to form suprabeads and thin films. The thereby obtained indicators change color from purple to pink to colorless on hydrogen exposure. The indicator systems are tested under various environmental conditions, and their performance is related to their microscopically visualized structure ...

Influence of Y doping on high temperature oxidation resistance of titanium diboride coatings
In this study, DC magnetron sputtering was employed to deposit TiB2 coatings with varying yttrium content. The XPS results revealed that yttrium was identified in the TiB2 coating as yttrium oxide (Y2O3) due to the presence of residual oxygen.
