X-Ray Induced Light Emission of Yttrium Oxide

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2021
The paper presents the experimental results of light radiation from Y2O3 ceramics caused by X-rays with energy up to 50 keV. The samples were made from commercial Y2O3 nanopowder by pressing and subsequent sintering in air at different temperatures from ...

Influence of Y doping on high temperature oxidation resistance of titanium diboride coatings

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
In this study, DC magnetron sputtering was employed to deposit TiB2 coatings with varying yttrium content. The XPS results revealed that yttrium was identified in the TiB2 coating as yttrium oxide (Y2O3) due to the presence of residual oxygen.

Synthesis of bulk, dense, nanocrystalline yttrium aluminum garnet from amorphous powders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Amorphous powders of Al2O3x2014;37.5 mol% Y2O3 (yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG)) were prepared by coprecipitation, decomposed at 800xB0;C, and hot-pressed uniaxally at low temperature (600xB0;C) and a moderate pressure (750 MPa). Optimum conditions yielded

Synthesis of nanoparticles of Y(OH)CO3 and Y2O3 using liquid interfaces and modification of their surface by palladium

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2011
The nano-composite materials with different morphology and structure, including yttrium basic carbonate or yttrium oxide and palladium metal are obtained. The optimal conditions for synthesis of stable nanoparticles of yttrium basic carbonate are defined.

Space–charge theory applied to the grain boundary impedance of proton conducting BaZr0.9Y0.1O3−δ. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The specific grain interior and grain boundary conductivities, obtained from impedance spectroscopy and the brick layer model, are reported for BaZr0.9Y0.1O3−δ as a function of pO2 and temperature. pO2-dependencies were indicative of dominating ionic and
