A study of the oxide dispersion and recrystallization in NiCrAl prepared from preoxidized powder [PDF]

open access: yes
The sintered aluminum powder (SAP) technique of dispersion strengthening (formation of an oxide dispersion by preoxidation of metal powders) was applied to atomized powder of a nickel alloy containing, by weight, 17% Cr, 5% Al, and 0.2% Y. The SAP-NiCrAl

Regulating TGO Nucleation and Growth of MCrAlX Coatings via Femtosecond Laser Remelting: The Role of Reactive Elements in the Oxidation Resistance

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT MCrAlX coatings are widely used as bond coats in thermal barrier coating systems to protect turbine blades from high‐temperature oxidation. However, their oxidation resistance is often restricted by uncontrolled microstructures, surface roughness, and aggregation of reactive elements (REs). In this study, high‐repetition‐rate femtosecond laser

Versatile High‐Sensitivity EPR Using Superconducting Spiral Microresonators

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
A significant sensitivity enhancement in conventional X‐band pulsed EPR is achieved using planar spiral microresonators fabricated from high‐temperature superconducting YBCO. Fully compatible with standard instrumentation, the approach enables high‐fidelity spin control under typical sample conditions.

Melt-casted Li1.5Al0.3Mg0.1Ge1.6(PO4)3 glass ceramic electrolytes: A comparative study on the effect of different oxide doping

open access: yesHeliyon
The development of Li-ion conducting solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) is crucial to achieve increased energy density, operative reliability, and unprecedented safety to replace the state-of-the-art Li-ion battery (LIB). In this regard, we here present the

Advancing Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes toward Next‐Generation Electronic Materials: The Critical Roles of Purity and Processability

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are promising for a wide range of applications. In particular, their exceptional electrical conductivity positions them as potential alternatives to traditional metal conductors. This review identifies the key mechanisms governing their conductivity within composites and proposes practical pathways for translating

Phase compatibilities of YBa2Cu3O(9-delta) type structure in quintenary systems Y-Ba-Cu-O-X (impurity) [PDF]

open access: yes
Electrical transport properties of the oxidic high T(sub c) superconductors are significantly affected by the presence of minor amounts of various elements adventing as impurities, e.g., from the chemical environment during manufacturing.

Recycling End‐of‐Life Solid Oxide Cell Interconnect Assemblies into Commercial‐Grade AISI 304 Stainless Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study validates a recycling pathway for converting interconnect assemblies from end‐of‐life SOC stacks into commercial‐grade AISI 304 steels. Using scrap‐based steelmaking operations, austenitic cast steels with <4.0% δ‐ferrite are successfully produced.

Titanium Detected in Liver, Kidney, Spleen, and Intestine Is Not Related to Dose, Time, or Route of Exposure to Titanium Dioxide: A Systematic Review

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Titanium dioxide (TiO2), used as a food additive (labeled E171 in Europe), was withdrawn from the European market in 2022. The E171 toxicity mechanism involves its uptake, oxidative stress, DNA damage, and inflammation. It has been hypothesized that the TiO2 accumulation nanoparticles (NPs) or E171 triggers tissue damage, and some studies have
