Synthesis of europium-doped yttrium hydroxide and yttrium oxide nanosheets

Journal of Materials Science, 2007
A new approach has been developed for the preparation of Y(OH)3:Eu and Y2O3:Eu nanosheets using the sol–gel method and hydrothermal reactions. XRD patterns showed that the product was purely hexagonal-phase Y(OH)3. TEM images revealed that the nanosheets are square shaped (1 × 1 μm2) with a thickness of several tens of nanometers.

Preparation of Layered Yttrium Oxide by Hydrolysis of Yttrium Nitrate

Materials Science Forum, 2016
Hydrolysis products of aqueous yttrium nitrates obtained by sol-gel method at room temperature, under atmospheric pressure without any templates and structure directing agents were investigated by thermal analysis combined with mass spectrometry of thermolysis products, XRD and scanning electron microscope with elemental EDS analyzer.

Properties of Yttrium Oxide Ceramics

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1957
The cubic structure of yttrium oxide is stable to 1800°C. in air as indicated by petrographic, X‐ray, and differential thermal analyses. A change in lattice parameter of less than ±0.007 a.u. was observed on heating the oxide to 1800°C. The mean specific heat of Y 2 O 3

Mesoporous Gallium Oxide Structurally Stabilized by Yttrium Oxide

Langmuir, 2000
Since the synthesis of mesoporous silicas such as MCM-41 and FSM-16 with large internal surface areas and uniform pore sizes, the surfactant templating method has been used to synthesize mesoporous metal oxides, including titanium, aluminum, niobium, and tantalum oxides.

H2 oxidation on doped yttrium chromites/yttrium stabilized zirconia anode of solid oxide fuel cell

Journal of Power Sources, 2013
Abstract Co and Ni doped yttrium chromites as potential anodes for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) are studied with respect to the electrode performance and anode reaction mechanisms. Both electrical conductivity and electrode performance of yttrium chromites have been enhanced after Co and Ni doping. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results

On the oxidation of yttrium

Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1964
Abstract The air oxidation of yttrium was studied at 900 and 1400°C. Yttrium was found to have oxygen solubilities corresponding to 5.1 and 28 per cent internal oxidation of the metal at 900 and 1400°C, respectively. The rate of solution is very rapid and is the dominating process during initial stages of oxidation.
