Switched inductor‐capacitor‐based quasi‐Z source converter for renewable energy source integration

International journal of circuit theory and applications, 2023
In applications involving renewable energy sources such as solar PV and fuel cells, the high‐gain DC–DC converter must have the following desirable characteristics: high voltage gain, continuous input current with low ripple content, common ground ...

A Z-Source Half-Bridge Converter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2014
Applying an LC network into a half-bridge converter, a novel Z-source half-bridge converter is presented, in which less LC components are needed compared to the conventional one. This Z-source half-bridge converter can solve not only the problems of the shoot-through and limited voltage but also the problem of imbalance at the midpoint voltage of input

Fractional Order Modeling and Dynamical Analysis of Peak-Current-Mode Controlled Synchronous Switching Z-Source Converter

2021 4th International Conference on Energy, Electrical and Power Engineering (CEEPE), 2021
Based on the facts that the inductor and the capacitor are fractional in nature, the fractional calculus is adopted to establish the fractional mathematical model of the peak current mode controlled synchronous switching Z-source converter.

Z-Source Matrix Converter: An Overview

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2016
Conventional matrix converters (MCs) have limited voltage gain that is less than 0.866, whether for direct MC (DMC) or indirect MC (IMC). The Z-source MCs (ZSMCs) overcome the voltage gain limitation of the traditional MC and achieve buck and boost operation with reduced switches count, thereby achieving low cost, high efficiency, and reliability ...

Current-fed Z-source matrix converter

2009 International Conference on Applied Superconductivity and Electromagnetic Devices, 2009
This paper proposes a current-fed Z-source matrix converter topology. It combines the current-fed Z-source ac-ac converter with traditional current-fed matrix converter, and can overcome the conceptual and theoretical barriers and limitations of the traditional matrix converter. It can output lower voltage and has higher reliability.

Switched Z-source DC-DC converter

IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2017
In this paper, a switched Z-source dc-dc converter (SZSC) is proposed for the conversion from a low voltage to a higher one in renewable energy systems. The voltage gain is increased by adding another one switch and diode to the output terminal of the traditional Z-source dc-dc converter.

Fully Soft-Switched High Step-Up Quasi Z-Source Converter With Controllable Duty Cycle Range

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
This article proposes a new high step-up converter based on the quasi Z-source (qZs) structure. By applying high step-up techniques and active clamp cell to the basic converter, high voltage gain, very low switch voltage stress, and fully soft switching ...

Photovoltaic lighting system based on Z-source/quasi-Z-source converter topology

2011 Twenty-Sixth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2011
This paper proposes a photovoltaic lighting system based on a power converter that combines the Z-source and the quasi-Z-source topologies. When there is enough sunlight the power converter operates similarly as the quasi-Z-source topology and thus the photovoltaic energy is stored in a battery bank.

A Family of Z-source and Quasi-Z-source DC-DC Converters

2009 Twenty-Fourth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2009
This paper presents a family of four-quadrant dc-dc converters with minimal number of switches and passive devices. These converters employ a Z-source or a quasi-Z-source network with two active switches to provide four quadrant operation which means bipolar output voltage and bidirectional current operation.
