Modeling of Z-source network for DSTATCOM

2016 National Power Systems Conference (NPSC), 2016
The performance of a distributed static compensator (DSTATCOM) is decided by an appropriate system topology as well as control algorithm. A Z-source inverter (ZSI) based DSTATCOM is introduced in this paper to improve the power quality of a three phase distribution system using the icosΘ (i-cos-theta) control algorithm.

Distributed Z-source network DC-DC converter

2009 IEEE 6th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2009
This paper presents a novel DC-DC converter incorporating distributed (or transmission line) Z-source network for buck (step-down) and boost (step-up) operation of DC-DC converter. Recently, a lot of effort has been made to utilize distributed network in power electronics circuits. In this paper, the distributed Z-source network composed of an array of

Quasi Z-Source Converter Fed Inverter with Active Switched Network

International Journal Of Recent Trends In Multidisciplinary Research, 2023
This paper presents a quasi-Z source converter fed inverter with active switched networks. The converter topology is implemented with the help of capacitor, inductor and diodes connected in such a manner to improve voltage gain. A novel active switching network is developed to improve the harmonic performance of converter. Thus, network designed uses a

New Magnetically Coupled Impedance (Z-) Source Networks

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2016
Various Magnetically Coupled Impedance Source (MCIS) networks have been proposed in the literature for increasing voltage gain and modulation index simultaneously, while reducing the number of passive components used in the converter. However, applications of such networks have been limited by their discontinuous currents drawn from the sources and/or ...

Designing impedance network of Z-source inverters

2005 International Power Engineering Conference, 2005
The possible operating states of an impedance network of a Z-source inverter are identified and analyzed with the objective of deriving design guidelines. Through the analysis it is shown that in addition to the desired three dynamic states, the operating cycle can contain another three static states that do not contribute to the power conversion ...

Z-Source\/Quasi-Z-Source Inverters: Derived Networks, Modulations, Controls, and Emerging Applications to Photovoltaic Conversion

IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine, 2014
The current and emerging investigations on Z-source/quasi-Z-source inverters (ZSIs/qZSIs) are presented. The ZSI/qZSI fulfills buck/boost capability in single-stage topology and overcomes the limits of traditional voltage source inverters (VSIs). Hence, high reliablity, high efficiency, and low cost can be achieved.

Minimized Quasi-Z source network for single-phase inverter

2015 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2015
The single-phase quasi-Z source inverter topology (qZSI) is attracting attentions for the single-phase grid-tie photovoltaic applications. However, due to the inherent second harmonic power flow in a single phase system, a large qZS network is required to reduce the second harmonic components of current and voltage at the dc port.
