Eddington-limited accretion and the black hole mass function at redshift 6
We present discovery observations of a quasar in the Canada-France High-z Quasar Survey (CFHQS) at redshift z=6.44. We also use near-IR spectroscopy of nine CFHQS quasars at z~6 to determine black hole masses.

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

One-dimensional models for atoms in strong magnetic fields, II: Anti-Symmetry in the Landau Levels
Electrons in strong magnetic fields can be described by one-dimensional models in which the Coulomb potential and interactions are replaced by regularizations associated with the lowest Landau band. For a large class of models of these type, we show that

Univalent and Starlike Properties for Generalized Struve Function
We derive conditions on the parameters p, b, and c so that the function zwp,b,c(z), where wp,b,c(z) is the normalized form of generalized Struve function, belongs to the class S1⁎(α). Also, some sufficient conditions for the function zwp,b,c(z), to be in

WEIGHTED REPRESENTATION FUNCTIONS ON $\mathbb{Z}_m$ [PDF]
Let $m$, $k_1$, and $k_2$ be three integers with $m\ge 2$. For any set $A\subseteq \mathbb{Z}_m$ and $n\in \mathbb{Z}_m$, let $\hat{r}_{k_1,k_2}(A,n)$ denote the number of solutions of the equation $n=k_1a_1+k_2a_2$ with $a_1,a_2\in A$. In this paper, using exponential sums, we characterize all $m$, $k_1$, $k_2$, and $A$ for which $\hat{r}_{k_1,k_2}(A ...

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

Evolution of the Luminosity Function and Colors of Galaxies in a Lambda-CDM Universe
The luminosity function of galaxies is derived from a cosmological hydrodynamic simulation of a Lambda cold dark matter (CDM) universe with the aid of a stellar population synthesis model. At z=0, the resulting B band luminosity function has a flat faint

Iteration of the rational function z-1/z and a Hausdorff moment sequence
In a previous paper we considered a positive function f, uniquely determined for s>0 by the requirements f(1)=1, log(1/f) is convex and the functional equation f(s)=psi(f(s+1)) with psi(s)=s-1/s. We prove that the meromorphic extension of f to the whole complex plane is given by the formula f(z)=lim_{n\to\infty}psi^{\circ n}(lambda_n(lambda_{n+1 ...

Mechanisms and kinetic assays of aminoacyl‐tRNA synthetases
Accurate protein synthesis is crucial for life. The key players are aminoacyl‐tRNA synthetases (AARSs), which read the genetic code by pairing cognate amino acids and tRNAs. AARSs establish high amino acid selectivity by employing physicochemical limits in molecular recognition.
