On the Value of Knowing a z• Ion for What It Is

Journal of Proteome Research, 2007
Computer simulation of database searches of electron transfer dissociation (ETD) spectra using both "bottom up" and "top down" approaches was performed to evaluate the utility of knowing a priori which product ions contain the C-terminus (i.e., the z* ions).

Work Values of Generation Z Nurses

JONA: The Journal of Nursing Administration, 2019
OBJECTIVESTo determine the work values of Generation Z nurses, a new generation in the current workforce.BACKGROUNDA new generation of nurses is now part of the nursing workforce. Generation Z nurses, born in 1995 (aged ≤24 years), will bring new expectations and ideals about life and work into healthcare work settings.METHODSA descriptive, cross ...

CONVERTING AN F‐VALUE DETERMINED ON THE BASIS OF ONE z‐VALUE TO AN F‐VALUE DETERMINED ON THE BASIS OF A SECOND z‐VALUE

Journal of Food Science, 1980
ABSTRACT A procedure is presented for converting a heat sterilization process F‐value determined on the basis of one z‐value (Z 1 ,) to an F‐value determined on the basis of a second z‐value (Z 2 ).

Study of the analytic structure of the Fermi-Dirac functions ℱ a (z) for large values of |z|for large values of |z|

Il Nuovo Cimento B, 1986
By adequately dividing into parts the interval of integration of the infinite integral defining the Fermi-Dirac functions ℱ a (z), new functional expansions, which determine the analytic structure of these functions in the neighbourhood of the point at infinity, are obtained.

A Z-Number Valued Regression Model and its Application

Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing, 2018
AbstractRegression analysis is widely used for modeling of real-world processes in various fields. It should be noted that information relevant to real-world processes is characterized by imprecision and partial reliability. This involves combination of fuzzy and probabilistic uncertainties. zAAPs and zIIPs: Increasing the strategic value of System z

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 2007
With the addition of IBM System zTM application assist processors (zAAPs) and integrated information processors (zIIPs) to the portfolio of special-purpose IBM System z processors, the reinvention of the IBM mainframe continues. Jointly, zAAPs and zIIPs provide significant IBM System z9TM integrated and cost-effective processing cycles for today's ...

Multimode fiber with z-dependent α-value

Applied Optics, 1979
The width of the impulse response of multimode fibers with power law index profiles depends on the alpha-value of the power law exponent. For constant alpha, optimum pulse width is achievable only in a very narrow range of values centered around alpha = 2 - (12/5)Delta.

Asymptotic expansion of the Whittaker's function W,((z) for large values of k, m, z

Journal of the Franklin Institute, 1953
Abstract The present paper investigates some special cases of the asymptotic behavior of the Whittaker function, Wk,m(n)(z) for large values of the parameters (k, m) and the independent variable of the function (z), all of which depend on an eigenvalue (n) which increases indefinitely.

The z-Transform for Initial Value Problems

1996
In the previous two chapters we investigated various boundary value problems associated with difference equations. In the process, we developed discrete transforms which are compatible with each kind of boundary value problem. This included the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) of Chapter 4 for periodic boundary conditions, the discrete sine transform ...
