Observational Evidence for Accelerated Warming and Salinification Propagating Into the Deep Mediterranean

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Acceleration, rather than a gradual linear response, is emerging as a defining feature of ocean change in the Anthropocene. Surface‐forced warming propagates into the deep ocean over decades to centuries, but semi‐enclosed basins such as the Mediterranean Sea may respond more rapidly.

The Dentition of the Aurignacian Mandible Les Rois 2, France: New Data and Taxonomic Reassessment

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 191, Issue 1, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective This study provides new dental phenotypic data on the Aurignacian mandible Les Rois 2 (southwestern France). A former study of its dental morphology concluded that its taxonomic assignment to either Homo sapiens or Homo neanderthalensis was “uncertain” and could reflect a recent Neanderthal ancestry of this specimen.

Proinflammatory Epstein–Barr Virus Antibody Functions Track with Disease Activity in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 100, Issue 3, Page 547-558, September 2026.
Objective Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS). Elevated immunoglobulin G (IgG) titers against EBV nuclear antigen 1 (EBNA1) represent the most consistent serological marker of MS risk, with levels remaining persistently elevated following disease onset.

Chemophenetic Analysis of Ten Wild‐Growing East Adriatic Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don (Gnaphalieae, Asteraceae) Populations

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Essential oils of immortelle are well known for their diversity in composition, but most studies on phytochemistry focus on bioactivity, while variability has rarely been directly studied. We investigated variability in the composition of essential oils and extracts from different populations along the east Adriatic coast, as well as environmental ...

Push‐out tests of innovative shear connection in CFS‐concrete beams with corrugated web

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 1095-1100, September 2026.
Abstract This paper presents an experimental investigation of the LWT‐FLOOR composite floor system, focusing on the behaviour of corrugated‐web shear connections in built‐up cold‐formed steel (CFS)‐concrete beams. The system consists of built‐up steel girders with spot‐welded CFS profiles and a concrete slab, where the shear connection is achieved by ...
