Reformulated First Zagreb Index of Some Graph Operations

open access: yesMathematics, 2015
The reformulated Zagreb indices of a graph are obtained from the classical Zagreb indices by replacing vertex degrees with edge degrees, where the degree of an edge is taken as the sum of degrees of the end vertices of the edge minus 2. In this paper, we

The Zagreb indices 30 years after [PDF]

open access: yesCroatica chemica acta, 2003
The original formulation of the Zagreb indices is presented and their relationship to topological indices such as self-returning walks, Platt, Gordon-Scantlebury and connectivity indices is discussed. Their properties are also listed. Modified Zagreb indices are introduced and the Zagreb complexity indices reviewed.

Online Local Budget Transparency and Local Elections in Croatia

open access: yesEconomics &Politics, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 199-215, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study empirically analyses the impact of online local budget transparency (OLBT) on the electoral performance of city mayors and municipal heads who sought re‐election in Croatia's local elections in 2017 and 2021. Based on the literature on political budget cycles (PBC) and voting behavior, the study tests two main hypotheses: (1) that ...

Clinical Significance of Microembolic Signal Detection in Acute Ischemic Stroke: Insights Into Ongoing Cerebral Embolization and Occult Etiologies

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 3, March 2026.
In this prospective study of anterior circulation AIS patients, microembolic signals (MES) were detected in 16% of cases, absent in lacunar stroke. MES presence was linked to multiple‐territory infarcts, newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation, and cancer‐associated stroke.

Bridging Economic and Psychological Perspectives on Financial Resilience: An Integrative Review and Research Agenda

open access: yesInternational Journal of Consumer Studies, Volume 50, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Scholarly interest in financial resilience has grown significantly over the past decade, yet the literature remains fragmented, marked by conceptual ambiguity and methodological inconsistencies. This integrative review critically synthesizes research on how consumers recover from financial shocks, bridging economic and psychological ...

Entropy measures of dendrimers using degree based indices

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Chemical Engineering
Topological indices play a crucial role as molecular descriptors in QSAR/QSPR research. Graph entropy measurements are of great importance in various fields like chemistry, discrete mathematics, and biology.

Five Hidden Species in a Widespread European Vertebrate: Disentangling the Alpine Newt Cryptic Species Complex Through Genomic Phylogeography

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 5, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Through genomic phylogeography, previously unrecognised biodiversity can be revealed. The alpine newt serves as a case in point: this taxon carries highly distinct mtDNA clades and has a severely fragmented range. We obtain genome‐wide data with target enrichment by sequence capture to delineate cryptic species and disentangle their ...

Comparative Analysis of High‐Throughput Phenotyping Techniques for Early Detection of Herbicide Stress

open access: yesWeed Research, Volume 66, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT Early detection of herbicide‐induced stress is essential for optimising weed control, improving crop safety and advancing precision agriculture practices. While non‐destructive imaging technologies offer great potential for rapid stress diagnosis, direct comparisons of their performance across species, herbicides and application rates remain ...

Coloring and density theorems for configurations of a given volume

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 132, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract This is a treatise on finite point configurations spanning a fixed volume to be found in a single color‐class of an arbitrary finite (measurable) coloring of the Euclidean space Rn$\mathbb {R}^n$, or in a single large measurable subset A⊆Rn$A\subseteq \mathbb {R}^n$.

Bounds for Zagreb indices

open access: yes, 2017
Let \(G\) be a graph with vertex set \(V(G)\) and edge set \(E(G)\). Let \(d_i\) be the degree of the vertex \(v_i \in V(G)\). The first and second Zagreb indices, \(M_1 = \sum_{v_i \in V(G)} d_i^2\) and \(M_2 = \sum_{v_iv_j \in E(G)} d_i\,d_j\) are the oldest and most thoroughly investigated vertex degree-based molecular structure descriptors.
