Construction of two large-size four-plane micromegas detectors
We report on the construction and initial performance studies of two micromegas detector quadruplets with an area of 0.5 m$^2$. They serve as prototypes for the planned upgrade project of the ATLAS muon system.

Repression of CIITA by the Epstein-Barr virus transcription factor Zta is independent of its dimerization and DNA binding [PDF]
Repression of the cellular CIITA gene is part of the immune evasion strategy of the γherpes virus Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) during its lytic replication cycle in B-cells. In part this is mediated through down regulation of MHC class II gene expression via

Scaling of Planar Sodium‐Nickel Chloride Battery Cells to 90 cm2 Active Area
Large planar Na β′′ alumina electrolytes are prepared by tape‐casting and die‐pressing. These ceramic electrolytes are used to prepare planar sodium‐nickel chloride cells with 90 cm2 active area, providing a high capacity of 7 Ah. Successful cell cycling is demonstrated at 300 °C at rates up to C/4 (20 mA cm−2) for a cumulative capacity of 3.6 Ah cm−2.

Translocation of ‘Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum’, the Zebra Chip Pathogen, in Potato and Tomato [PDF]
Zebra Chip disease is a serious threat to potato production. The pathogen, the phloem-limited bacterium ‘Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum,’ is vectored by the potato and tomato psyllid Bactericerca cockerelli to potato and tomato. Patterns of pathogen translocation through phloem in potato and tomato plants were examined to determine whether rate ...

Effects of High-Level Acylsugar-Producing Tomato Lines on the Development of Tomato Psyllids (Hemiptera: Triozidae). [PDF]
Acylsugars have been shown to provide activity against numerous insect pests of tomatoes. Comparison of acylsugar levels in four tomato plant lines, FA7/AS, FA2/AS, CU071026, and 'Yellow Pear', found that the acylsugar contents in the elevated acylsugar ...

Exploration of new wildlife surveying methodologies that leverage advances in sensor technology and machine learning has led to tentative research into the application of seismology techniques. This, most commonly, involves the deployment of a footfall trap – a seismic sensor and data logger customised for wildlife footfall.
