Zeolite membranes are selective barriers, which can be supported or not, and prepared with well-defined aluminosilicate crystalline structures having a uniform and well-defined porous framework. Zeolites are attractive molecular sieve materials which have been used for a long time as adsorbents, catalysts, and softeners in detergents (ion-exchange ...

Zeolite content determination in zeolitic catalysts
Applied Catalysis, 1982Abstract A method of X-ray diffraction and one of vaporization of a liquid adsorbate were compared to determine the zeolite content in silica-alumina-NaY zeolite mixtures. For mixtures with low zeolite content, the vaporization of benzene at controlled temperature seemed to be more reliable than the X-ray diffraction method.

Texture of zeolites and zeolite‐containing solids
Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1980AbstractTexture studies, in which specific surface area and total pore volume were determined by low temperature nitrogen adsorption, were carried out on a number of porous solids, ranging from cation‐exchanged Y‐zeolites, impregnated with β‐AlF3 and copper, to steamed silica‐alumina. The zeolites were impregnated with β‐AlF3 and Cu in order to improve

EPR Imaging on Zeolites and Zeolite Catalysts
2018This chapter demonstrates the possibilities of using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) imaging as a useful tool for the characterization of diffusion and coking processes in zeolite powders and in pelletized zeolite catalysts. The measurements have been carried out by using a conventional EPR spectrometer ERS 221 and the accessory unit ZZG1 for ...

Geology of natural zeolites and zeolitic rocks
Pure and Applied Chemistry, 1980Present status, particularly development in the latest decade, of the geology of natural zeolites and zeolitic rocks has been overviewed. Emphases are focused on the classification of genetical occurrences and the synthesis deduced from the nature..

Zeolite map: The new detergent zeolite
1997This paper describes the physical and chemical properties of a new zeolite, MAP, which have led to its commercialisation for use as a detergent builder. Its advantageous calcium exchange selectivity and water sorption properties are the result of unusual flexibility of the Zeolite P framework; these are delivered through engineering the framework ...
