Optimizing Zero-Forcing Precoders for MIMO Broadcast Systems

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2007
In this paper, we develop optimization techniques for linear zero-forcing (ZF) multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) broadcast (BC) precoders. A computationally efficient technique based on QR-update algorithms for implementing this optimization is then proposed.

Distributed versus centralized zero-forcing precoding for multiceli OFDM systems

2011 IEEE GLOBECOM Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2011
In this paper we propose distributed linear multiuser precoding techniques for the downlink of multicell MIMO-OFDM systems. The preceder is designed in two phases: first the intercell interference is removed by applying a set of precoding vectors based on zero-forcing criterion and computed in a distributed manner at each BS; then the system is further

Improved zero-forcing linear precoder through tone suppression

2016 IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP), 2016
For a zero-forcing linear precoded system, the transmit power normalisation could severely degrade the achievable data rates. However selecting fewer number of users for pre-coding and signal transmission may require less severe transmit power normalisation, leading to improvement in the downstream data rates. We develop an algorithm here to select the

Two-Dimensional DOA Zero-Forcing Precoding for Enhanced Spectral Efficiency in Cell-Free Massive MIMO

2025 22nd International Learning and Technology Conference (L&T)
Energy and spectral efficiency in mobile networks are enhanced by Cell-free Massive-MIMO systems utilizing macro-diversity to optimize overall performance. However, multi-user interference, especially due to pilot reuse within the same cell, continues to

An Iterative Precoder Design for Successive Zero-Forcing Precoded Systems

IEEE Communications Letters, 2012
Successive zero-forcing (SZF) is a precoding technique for broadcast channels that partially precancels the multiuser interference. Due to the residual interference, the optimal precoder design for SZF is difficult to find, and currently unknown. This letter proposes a suboptimal iterative precoder design for the sum rate maximization problem for SZF ...

Regularized zero-forcing precoding with non-homogeneous user conditions

2014 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2014
This paper is concerned with linear precoding designs in a multiuser downlink system. We consider a multiple-input single-output system with multiple single-antenna user-equipments (UE) experiencing non-homogeneous user conditions, including the channel strength and the background noise power. Assuming perfect knowledge of channel state information and

Optimal zero-forcing precoding design - oversampled FB frame approach

2010 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2010
This paper presents a frame analysis of Zero Forcing (ZF) precoding problem. It shows that from a frame point of view, the filter bank (FB) channel is a synthesis frame and its canonical dual analysis frame is the optimal ZF precoder under total power constraint. Based on this analysis, a new precoder design is presented.

Game-Based Zero-Forcing Precoding for Multicell Multiuser Transmissions

2011 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2011
This paper studies the precoding design in a multicell multiuser (MU) system with universal frequency-reuse using a game-based approach. Considered is a multicell system, where the MU downlink transmissions in each cell are facilitated by a multi-antenna base-station (BS).

Performance Analysis of Ergodic Secrecy Rates in Massive MIMO-NOMA Networks with Zero-Forcing Precoding

International Conference on Autonomic and Trusted Computing, 2019
