A Deep Dynamic Latent Block Model for the Co-clustering of Zero-Inflated Data Matrices [PDF]
International audienceThe simultaneous clustering of observations and features of data sets (a.k.a. co-clustering) has recently emerged as a central machine learning task to summarize massive data sets.

We investigate whether Montessori and traditional schooling systems shape the developmental trajectory of large‐scale brain dynamics in different ways. We quantify the arrow of time (“non‐reversibility”) in neural activity during resting state and movie‐watching, revealing distinct maturational patterns.

bizicount: Bivariate Zero-Inflated Count Copula Regression Using R
Two common issues arise in regression modelling of bivariate count data: (i) dependence across outcomes, and (ii) excess zero counts (i.e., zero inflation).

Analysis of dental caries using generalized linear and count regression models [PDF]
Generalized linear models (GLM) are generalization of linear regression models, which allow fitting regression models to response data in all the sciences especially medical and dental sciences that follow a general exponential family. These are flexible

This study presents an anatomical landmark‐guided DRL framework for autonomous wireless capsule endoscopy navigation. Using a lightweight edge‐contour‐depth fusion module, it achieves over 97% coverage across diverse gastric anatomies. To ensure reliability, a two‐stage sim‐to‐real pipeline with an adaptive dynamic programming controller mitigates ...

Communication-efficient distributed statistical inference on zero-inflated Poisson models
Zero-inflated count outcomes are common in many studies, such as counting claim frequency in the insurance industry in which identifying and understanding excessive zeros are of interest.

Synchronization‐Dissipation in the Cardiorespiratory System
By modeling central nervous coupling and viscoelastic interactions in the cardiorespiratory system we show that synchronization produces a 10% gain in cardiac efficiency in humans. It is surmised that respiratory sinus arrhythmia improves cardiac pumping efficiency by reducing dynamic stress and power dissipation in the pulmonary vasculature.

Random effects compound Poisson model to represent data with extra zeros [PDF]
48This paper describes a compound Poisson-based random effects structure for modeling zero-inflated data. Data with large proportion of zeros are found in many fields of applied statistics, for example in ecology when trying to model and predict species ...

Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...

Multi-parameter joint regression model for longitudinal zero-inflated count data
Longitudinal zero-inflated count data are gathered from a series of measurements of experimental individuals at multiple time points and possess the very characteristics of longitudinal data, count data and zero-inflated data simultaneously. The number of
