Bivariate zero-inflated negative binomial regression model with applications
Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 2016ABSTRACTCount data often display excessive number of zero outcomes than are expected in the Poisson regression model. The zero-inflated Poisson regression model has been suggested to handle zero-inflated data, whereas the zero-inflated negative binomial (ZINB) regression model has been fitted for zero-inflated data with additional overdispersion.

Zero inflated negative binomial-Sushila distribution and its application
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017A new zero inflated distribution is proposed in this work, namely the zero inflated negative binomial-Sushila distribution. The new distribution which is a mixture of the Bernoulli and negative binomial-Sushila distributions is an alternative distribution for the excessive zero counts and over-dispersion.

Score Tests for Extra-Zero Models in Zero-Inflated Negative Binomial Models
Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2008When overdispersion is present in count data, a negative binomial (NB) model is commonly used in place of the standard Poisson model. However, the model is sometimes not adequate because of the occurrence of excess zeros and a zero-inflated negative binomial (ZNB) model may be more appropriate.

Parameter estimation of the zero inflated negative binomial beta exponential distribution
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017The zero inflated negative binomial-beta exponential (ZINB-BE) distribution is developed, it is an alternative distribution for the excessive zero counts with overdispersion. The ZINB-BE distribution is a mixture of two distributions which are Bernoulli and negative binomial-beta exponential distributions.

Some Theoretical Comparisons of Negative Binomial and Zero-Inflated Poisson Distributions
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2015In this article, we compare the zero-inflated Poisson (ZIP) and negative binomial (NB) distributions based on three most important criteria: the probability of zero, the mean value, and the variance. Our results show that with same mean value and variance, the ZIP distribution always has a larger probability of zeros; with same mean value and ...

Model Assisted Statistics and Applications
Count data sets in many real-world scenarios exhibit zero-inflation, characterised by an excessive zero counts. Zero-inflated negative binomial (ZINB) and hurdle negative binomial (HNB) models are commonly applied to handle this issue, particularly in the presence of overdispersion.
