Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

An optimal transformer differential protection method based on zero-sequence differential current characteristics

open access: yesZhejiang dianli
When current transformers are not installed on the delta winding of a wye-delta transformer, the differential protection must utilize currents measured outside the delta winding to calculate the differential current.

Research on a Faulty Line Selection Method Based on the Zero-Sequence Disturbance Power of Resonant Grounded Distribution Networks

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
For fast and accurate faulty line selection (FLS) in single phase-to-ground (SPG) faults for resonant grounded distribution networks (RGDNs), this paper proposes a FLS method based on zero-sequence power characteristics.

Analysis of two-phase operation characteristics of a flexible low-frequency transmission system

open access: yesZhejiang dianli, 2022
The two-phase operation mode of a flexible low-frequency transmission system is based on the M3C (modular multilevel matrix converter). This paper establishes a complex sequence network for the low-frequency system to analyze the steady-state operation ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Research on fault line selection method of mine power network

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2018
In view of characteristics of DC component of transient zero-sequence current in fault lines is larger than that of normal lines when additional DC source system of mine power network occurrs single-phase earth fault, a fault line selection method of ...

An improved Hausdorff distance method for locating single phase to ground fault in neutral non‐effectively grounded system

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2021
Neutral non‐effectively grounded mode is widely used in medium‐voltage distribution networks in China. When a single‐phase grounding fault occurs in distribution networks, abundant transient signals will be generated.

Voltage Zero-Sequence Components in Optimal Control of Five-Phase PMSM Drives

open access: yesIECON 2025 – 51st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society
This paper investigates the utilization of the zerosequence component (ZSC) to increase the voltage and enhance the operation area of five-phase electric drives with permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM). Although the ZSC allows reaching higher voltage, its application in multiphase drives is constrained by the usage of x-y planes activated by ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.
