Induction machine diagnostics using zero sequence components

Fourtieth IAS Annual Meeting. Conference Record of the 2005 Industry Applications Conference, 2005., 2005
Induction machine diagnostics using zero sequence components is presented in this paper. Electrical faults cause asymmetries in the phase impedances, producing a zero sequence voltage in wye-connected machines and a zero sequence current in delta-connected machines.

Three-phase sigma-delta modulation using zero-sequence components

2005 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2005
This paper presents new analytic results on the performance of sigma-delta modulated (SDM) three-phase voltage source inverters, in terms of harmonic distortion of output current, conduction and switching losses of the inverter devices, and rms current of the DC link capacitor. The results are compared with the same magnitudes for PWM.

Impact of zero sequence component on voltage-source converters

Proceedings of the Power Conversion Conference-Osaka 2002 (Cat. No.02TH8579), 2003
Presently, the preferred circuit of PWM (pulse width modulation) converters has the open-wye 3-phase connection, in which the zero sequence does not exist. Single-line-to-ground fault studies have shown that the grounded-wye connection is better from protection and security consideration.

The control and analysis of zero sequence components in DVR system

2001 IEEE Power Engineering Society Winter Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37194), 2002
The magnitudes and phases of the compensating voltages in a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) system depend on the voltage sag in the phases affected by the fault and on the influence of the zero sequence components. If the delta connection of the transformer is used, the zero sequence components do not appear on the load side. But nowadays, wye connected

A New Fault Line Selection Method Based on Zero-Sequence Active Component

2010 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2010
a new fault line selection method based on the elimination of unbalanced current of zero-sequence active power is proposed by analyzing the principle of active power method and its inaccuracy. The amplitude and phase of real zero-sequence currents can be calculated by the method and the effect of unbalanced current is eliminated.

A general SVM algorithm for multilevel converters considering zero-sequence component control

31st Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2005. IECON 2005., 2005
Space vector modulation (SVM) scheme plays a significant role in high-voltage high-power applications of multilevel converters for its good performance. This paper presents a novel general SVM algorithm for multilevel converters. It includes two parts: one is control of fundamental component of three-phase outputs corresponding to reference vector; the

Online Interturn Fault Diagnosis of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Using Zero-Sequence Components

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2015
This paper develops an online interturn fault diagnosis method for permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). The mathematical model of the PMSM with interturn fault is established. The zero-sequence voltage component and zero-sequence current component are analyzed in the PMSM, respectively.
