Online Interturn Fault Diagnosis of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Using Zero-Sequence Components

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2015
This paper develops an online interturn fault diagnosis method for permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). The mathematical model of the PMSM with interturn fault is established. The zero-sequence voltage component and zero-sequence current component are analyzed in the PMSM, respectively.

High-Resistance Connection Detection in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Using Zero-Sequence Current Component

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2015
This paper focuses on the development of an online method for diagnosing high-resistance connection (HRC) in delta-connected permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) using zero-sequence current component (ZSCC). The development of this method begins with the establishment of the mathematic model of the PMSM with the HRC.

Torque Improvement of Dual Three-Phase Permanent Magnet Machine Using Zero Sequence Components

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2017
This paper investigates the interaction of the zero sequence component into both permanent magnet (PM) shape and phase current to improve the output torque in dual three-phase surface-mounted PM (SPM) machines. The optimal zero sequence components are analytically derived and validated by finite element (FE) analyses.

Impact of zero sequence component on voltage-source converters

Proceedings of the Power Conversion Conference-Osaka 2002 (Cat. No.02TH8579), 2003
Presently, the preferred circuit of PWM (pulse width modulation) converters has the open-wye 3-phase connection, in which the zero sequence does not exist. Single-line-to-ground fault studies have shown that the grounded-wye connection is better from protection and security consideration.

Induction machine diagnostics using zero sequence components

Fourtieth IAS Annual Meeting. Conference Record of the 2005 Industry Applications Conference, 2005., 2005
Induction machine diagnostics using zero sequence components is presented in this paper. Electrical faults cause asymmetries in the phase impedances, producing a zero sequence voltage in wye-connected machines and a zero sequence current in delta-connected machines.

The control and analysis of zero sequence components in DVR system

2001 IEEE Power Engineering Society Winter Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37194), 2002
The magnitudes and phases of the compensating voltages in a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) system depend on the voltage sag in the phases affected by the fault and on the influence of the zero sequence components. If the delta connection of the transformer is used, the zero sequence components do not appear on the load side. But nowadays, wye connected
