Torque Improvement of Dual Three-Phase Permanent Magnet Machine Using Zero Sequence Components

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2017
This paper investigates the interaction of the zero sequence component into both permanent magnet (PM) shape and phase current to improve the output torque in dual three-phase surface-mounted PM (SPM) machines. The optimal zero sequence components are analytically derived and validated by finite element (FE) analyses.

Zero-Sequence Current Reduction Technique for Electrical Machine Emulators With DC Coupling by Regulating the SVM Zero States

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2022
In this article, a new zero-sequence current suppression technique for electrical machine emulators with reduced component count is proposed. The proposed control scheme is implemented by properly regulating the zero states in space vector modulation ...

The control and analysis of zero sequence components in DVR system

2001 IEEE Power Engineering Society Winter Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37194), 2002
The magnitudes and phases of the compensating voltages in a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) system depend on the voltage sag in the phases affected by the fault and on the influence of the zero sequence components. If the delta connection of the transformer is used, the zero sequence components do not appear on the load side. But nowadays, wye connected

A novel method for preventing mal-operation of the zero-sequence directional component

12th IET International Conference on AC and DC Power Transmission (ACDC 2016), 2016
Zero-sequence directional components of the healthy line would incorrectly discriminate the fault direction, causing mal-operation of the pilot zero-sequence directional protection, due to the influence of mutual inductance between lines under weak current and strong magnetic situations.

Research on Zero Sequence Circulating Current Suppression of Parallel Inverter System with Common AC and DC Bus

2021 IEEE 5th Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration (EI2), 2021
The parallel inverter system with common AC and DC bus has the advantages of small size, low cost and high reliability. However, due to the inconsistency of switch status and main circuit parameters, zero sequence circulating current will be generated ...

Three-phase sigma-delta modulation using zero-sequence components

2005 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2005
This paper presents new analytic results on the performance of sigma-delta modulated (SDM) three-phase voltage source inverters, in terms of harmonic distortion of output current, conduction and switching losses of the inverter devices, and rms current of the DC link capacitor. The results are compared with the same magnitudes for PWM.

Weighted Min—Max Zero-Sequence Component Injection-Based Power Control for Single-Stage Dual-Port Inverter-Fed Motor Drives

IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification
The single-stage dual-port inverter (SSDPI)-fed motor drive is a high-efficiency configuration for hybrid electric vehicles (EVs). However, the modulation design for the SSDPI is a challenging task since the flexible power distribution between dc-port ...
