A zero voltage switching forward converter topology
Proceedings of Power and Energy Systems in Converging Markets, 2002A zero voltage switching forward converter topology is presented in this paper. The topology employs an auxiliary circuit. Only a few small rating components and devices are added. The merits of the proposed topology include: lossless switching independent of the input and load conditions, simple control and power circuitry, and ability to operate in ...

A novel zero voltage switched PWM converter
Proceedings of the 1992 International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control, Instrumentation, and Automation, 2003A novel approach to realizing zero voltage switching for high-frequency PWM (pulse-width modulation) power converters is presented. By controlling an auxiliary circuit associated with the main switching devices, these devices can be turned off at zero voltage condition.

Zero-voltage switching multi-output forward converter
INTELEC 2009 - 31st International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2009A new multi-output forward (MOFC) converter is proposed. It consists of four synchronous switches in secondary side for two outputs. The primary switches control the main output voltage and the synchronous switch in transformer secondary side controls the auxiliary output voltage.

Zero-voltage switching in switched current circuits
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002Traditionally the accuracy of switched-current circuits has been much lower than that of switched-capacitor circuits. To address this problem, an accurate high-speed switched-current sample-and-hold technique based on zero-voltage switching is presented.

A Novel Zero-Voltage-Switching PWM Full-Bridge Converter
2007 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2007Introducing resonant inductance and clamping diodes into the full-bridge converter can eliminate the voltage oscillation across the rectifier diodes and increase the load range for zero- voltage-switching (ZVS) achievement. The resonant inductance is shorted and its current keeps constant when the clamping diode is conducting, and the clamping diodes ...

Zero voltage switching technique for bi-directional DC/DC converters
2011 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2011This paper proposes a zero voltage switching (ZVS) technique for bidirectional dc/dc converters. The dc/dc unit considered consists of two distinct bidirectional dc/dc cells paralleled at both input and output and whose two input bridges are coupled by means of passive inductive branches.

Variable Frequency Zero Voltage Switching Stacked-up Converter
2019 20th International Conference of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices (EDM), 2019This work describes zero voltage switching stacked-up converter as the satellite power system battery discharger. Switching processes have been analyzed. It is shown that soft switching is available in a limited range of battery voltage due to a decrease in the inductor current ripple amplitude. The soft switching range can be significantly extended by

Zero-Voltage Switching in Full-Bridge Converter
Australian Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2008This paper presents a comparison study of circuit topology of the voltage source type zero-voltage soft-switching (ZVS) full-bridge DC-DC power converter with an isolated high-frequency transformer employing phase-shift control. The switching power losses and voltage stress on the active devices are considerably reduced. A prototype operating at 10kHz,

A MCT-based zero voltage switching PWM inverter
Proceedings of APEC 97 - Applied Power Electronics Conference, 2002This paper presents a MOS-controlled thyristor (MCT) based zero voltage switching (ZVS) scheme for PWM inverters. The proposed scheme utilizes a front end DC voltage notching circuit consisting of auxiliary switches and resonant components. This allows the DC link voltage to be brought to zero on command.

Zero-voltage-switched push-pull DC-DC converter
PESC '91 Record 22nd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2002A novel zero-voltage-switched (ZVS) push-pull DC-DC converter with two synchronous rectifiers in the secondary circuit is presented. ZVS is realized using the magnetizing current of the transformer as a current source during the commutation. The output circuit is isolated and the output voltage is controlled by pulsewidth modulation (PWM) with a ...
