Asymmetric Topology Design and Quasi-Zero-Loss Switching Composite Modulation for IGCT-Based High-Capacity DC Transformer

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2023
Medium-voltage large-capacity dc transformer (DCT) is the key energy conversion link for building intelligent distribution grid. Increasing the voltage and capacity of single module in DCT can effectively improve the power density and reduce the system ...

PWM boost converter with zero-voltage-switching

[Proceedings] 1992 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2003
By adding a second transistor, a zero-voltage-switched (ZVS) quasi-resonant boost converter can be shown to be controllable using a constant frequency control scheme. The new topology differs from a zero-voltage-switched quasi-resonant boost converter by the addition of an extra switch in parallel with the resonant inductor.

A zero voltage switching flyback converter topology

PESC97. Record 28th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Formerly Power Conditioning Specialists Conference 1970-71. Power Processing and Electronic Specialists Conference 1972, 2002
A zero voltage switching flyback power converter topology employing an auxiliary circuit is presented in this paper. The proposed power converter has lossless switching (whatever the line and load conditions), few components and can be operated either in voltage or current mode control.

New zero voltage switching PWM flyback converter

2010 1st Power Electronic & Drive Systems & Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2010
In this paper a new zero voltage switching PWM flyback converter with simple auxiliary circuit is introduced. The auxiliary circuit is only composed of a resonant capacitor and an auxiliary switch connected to a tertiary winding on the converter main transformer.

Zero-voltage-switching Three-phase T-type Inverter

2021 IEEE 12th Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition - Asia (ECCE-Asia), 2021
A novel zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) three-phase T-type inverter and its control scheme are proposed, which can realize ZVS operation of all switches. The operation principle of the proposed ZVS T-type inverter is analyzed. Furthermore, the ZVS condition is derived and the voltage stress is analyzed.

Zero Voltage Switching isolated boost converter topology

2011 IEEE 33rd International Telecommunications Energy Conference (INTELEC), 2011
This paper describes an isolated boost converter topology that was invented and patented by the author in the early 80s' but has not been described in detail in an article before. As this converter has very interesting properties and appears to now be re-invented by others perhaps it is time for a paper to be written on it.

GTO characterization for zero voltage switching applications

PESC '91 Record 22nd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2002
GTO applications limitations are investigated under hard and soft switching topologies as device output power and device switching frequency are simultaneously increased. Characterization test results and a P-Spice GTO model simulating device turn-off are used in the investigation.

A zero voltage switching forward converter topology

Proceedings of Power and Energy Systems in Converging Markets, 2002
A zero voltage switching forward converter topology is presented in this paper. The topology employs an auxiliary circuit. Only a few small rating components and devices are added. The merits of the proposed topology include: lossless switching independent of the input and load conditions, simple control and power circuitry, and ability to operate in ...

A novel zero voltage switched PWM converter

Proceedings of the 1992 International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control, Instrumentation, and Automation, 2003
A novel approach to realizing zero voltage switching for high-frequency PWM (pulse-width modulation) power converters is presented. By controlling an auxiliary circuit associated with the main switching devices, these devices can be turned off at zero voltage condition.

Zero-voltage switching multi-output forward converter

INTELEC 2009 - 31st International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2009
A new multi-output forward (MOFC) converter is proposed. It consists of four synchronous switches in secondary side for two outputs. The primary switches control the main output voltage and the synchronous switch in transformer secondary side controls the auxiliary output voltage.
