Fiscal Cyclicality and Debt Sustainability: Evidence From Over a Century of Data
ABSTRACT Using a historical fiscal dataset for a group of 11 economies over the period 1880–2022, we examine debt sustainability and fiscal policy cyclicality and assess the factors influencing fiscal behaviour. We find that positive and statistically significant responses of primary balances to debt emerge in specific historical episodes and ...

Abstract The term femicide, widely used in reference to the “killing of a woman because she is a woman,” has been questioned on the ground that it implies unequal dignity of men and women victims of gender related death. This position called for an analysis of the terminology used to describe and define the various forms of killing of women and men. We

Microbiome‐mediated plant‐soil feedbacks as a tool for resilient agriculture
Translating plant‐soil feedbacks (PSFs) into reliable agricultural management requires shifting from input‐dependent practices toward endogenous, process‐driven crop resilience. To bridge this gap, we propose a predictive framework centered on three strategic interventions: engineering the crop holobiont, diversifying the soil habitat, and deploying ...

Zero tillage in Manitoba : an evaluation by soil physical properties
The use of zero tillage for crop production reduces the time and power requirements for soil preparation as well as the cost. Soil physical properties are altered by tillage operations. A comparative evaluation of zero and conventional tillage was made by studying the soil physical properties to determine their response to both tillage systems.

ABSTRACT Agricultural water management (AWM) is increasingly transitioning towards transformative thinking, where interconnected sectors, including water, energy and food, are managed holistically. Trends point towards cross‐sectoral and harmonised strategies to optimise water use efficiency and productivity, integrate renewable energy, promote ...

ABSTRACT Long‐term economic analyses of variable rate irrigation (VRI) strategies were performed compared with uniform irrigation management (UIM) in a reference production field using the AquaCrop model. Five strategies to trigger irrigation were as follows: (Field Capacity‐VRI, Driest Soil Trigger‐VRI, Water Mining‐VRI, Conventional Uniform ...
