2D Co‐Mo‐Hydroxide‐Based Multifunctional Material for the Development of H2‐Based Clean Energy Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
2D α‐Co(OH)2 interleaved with Mo species displays an appealing dual functionality for the production and use of green hydrogen.Mo incorporation greatly benefits the electrochemical behaviour in Oxygen Evolution Reaction for H2 production, while the magnetocaloric response at liquid H2 temperature paves the way for alternative cryogenic refrigerants ...

Soil-physical aspects of zero-tillage experiments.

open access: yesNetherlands Journal of Agricultural Science, 1970
Structural determinations (visual rating, penetro-meter resistance, core sampling) in zero-tillage experiments on various soils (marine loam, river clay, sand etc) showed greater soil densities in unfilled plots than after plowing (20 cm), while mean pore-space and standard deviation of pore-space were generally lower in untilled plots.

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Productivity of tef [Eragrostis tef] under conservation tillage practices in central Ethiopia

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture, 2019
Field experiments were carried out to evaluate the productivity of tef under different tillage practices during 2016–2017 at Alem Tena and Minjar in Central Ethiopia. The experiment was carried out using split-plot design with three replications.

Growth, nodulation, yield, nitrogen uptake, and economics of lentil as influenced by sowing time, tillage, and management practices

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, 2023
Crop management practices and variety are two very important parameters that decides the crop performance. A field experiment was carried out during the two consecutive rabi seasons of 2018–19 and 2019–20 to determine the impact of sowing timing, tillage

Why Is the Mechanism Underlying the Chiral‐Induced Selectivity Effect Still Challenging?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect is observed in many experimental configurations and for different materials. However, there are theoretical challenges in attempting to explain those results. A qualitative framework for explaining all the results is presented.

Changes in soil biological properties in different management and tillage systems in petrocalcic argiudoll

open access: yesJournal of the Saudi Society of Agricultural Sciences, 2021
We analyzed the effect of different tillage systems under different land-use histories, on biological properties of soil during one year. The experiment was carried out at a Petrocalcic Argiudoll of Tres Arroyos (Buenos Aires, Argentina).

Remarks on soil structure in relation to zero-tillage.

open access: yesNetherlands Journal of Agricultural Science, 1970
Effects of tillage on density and structural homogeneity, requirements for good root penetration and growth in soil, and types of soil structure most suitable for plant growth are discussed. It is suggested that tillage normally creates a sufficiently heterogeneous soil structure, while soil structure after zero-tillage gradually becomes more ...

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates
