Sputtered NiCu Thin Films on Nickel Foam for Overall Electrochemical Water Splitting in Alkaline Media

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 6, November 2026.
Ni:Cu (3:1) films, sputtered on nickel foam form self‐supported electrocatalysts for alkaline water splitting. The hydrogen evolution electrode (270 nm) overpotential at −50 mA cm−2 drops from 215 to 136 mV after 72 h, owning to Cu leaching . For oxygen evolution, it reaches 370 mV at 10 mA cm−2.

Decorating SrTiO3 With Cu@Pt Core‐Shell Cocatalysts to Promote the Selective Thermally Assisted Photocatalytic Methanol Dehydrogenation to Formaldehyde

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 19, 14 October 2026.
Cu‐core/Pt‐shell cocatalysts deposited by galvanic displacement on SrTiO3 significantly boost methanol conversion in the thermally assisted photocatalytic methanol dehydrogenation enabling formaldehyde formation along H2 production. This enhancement is likely achieved by the formation of Ohmic‐like contacts rather than Schottky junctions ...
