Switching losses of IGBTs under zero-voltage and zero-current switching
PESC Record. 27th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2002Turn-off switching losses of punch-through (PT) and nonpunch-through (NPT) IGBTs under hard switching (HS) and zero-voltage switching (ZVS) are presented and evaluated at 25/spl deg/C, 75/spl deg/C and 125/spl deg/C. A comparison between PT and NPT devices based on their internal device characteristics is given for HS and ZVS.

A zero voltage switching switched capacitor voltage doubler
2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012Switched capacitor converter has advantages such as no magnetic components, compact size. With the target to reach high power, high switching frequency is preferred. In order to achieve high efficiency, soft switching becomes vital. This paper proposes a soft switched voltage doubler and its PWM scheme, with which, all switches in the converter turns ...

Zero-voltage-switching multi-resonant three-level converters
2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004This paper proposes a family of zero-voltage-switching multiresonant three-level converters (ZVS-MR-TLCs), which are derived by adding a ZVS-MR multiresonant network to the TLCs. The arrangement of a multiresonant network results in the absorption of all the major parasitic components in the resonant circuit, including the switch output capacitor ...

A new zero voltage and zero current power switching technique
20th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1992An outline is presented of work done by the authors on a novel converter topology where the power switching occurs at both zero current and zero voltage, giving it some major advantage over the present state of the art. A description is given of the application of this topology to both high and low-output-voltage converters.

A primary-switched line-side converter using zero voltage switching
Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2001A new primary-switched AC/DC power converter and its modulation are presented. It employs a single- or three-phase transformer, with a matrix converter (primary) and a conventional two-level converter (secondary). This allows galvanic isolation at medium-frequency zero-voltage primary commutation and five line-side voltage levels.

KY converter with zero voltage switching
2010 5th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2010In this paper, the soft switching technique is applied to the KY converter to upgrade the efficiency in the neighborhood of the rated load and hence enhance its capability in industrial applications. The details of soft switching of the KY converter are illustrated along with some simulated and experimental results to verify the effectiveness of the ...

Zero-voltage switching in switched current circuits
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002Traditionally the accuracy of switched-current circuits has been much lower than that of switched-capacitor circuits. To address this problem, an accurate high-speed switched-current sample-and-hold technique based on zero-voltage switching is presented.

Zero-voltage-switched interleaved flyback converter
INTELEC 2009 - 31st International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2009This paper proposes an interleaved flyback converter which is remarked with zero-voltage-switched active switches and reduced reverse recovery loss on the rectifying diodes. The configuration is composed of two identical flyback converters and an auxiliary inductor shunted between the diodes.

Zero-voltage and zero-current soft-switching PWM inverter
2005 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2005This paper presents a zero-voltage and zero-current soft-switching (ZVZCS) PWM three phase inverter with a single auxiliary resonant commutation cell. All of the main switches in the three-phase inverter side can be turned on and turned off under zero-voltage and zero-current condition. The operating principle of proposed commutation cell is described,

Charge control for zero-voltage-switching multiresonant converter
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1996The operation of zero-voltage-switching multi-resonant power converters (ZVSMRCs) limits the use of peak current-mode control. The charge control technique is found applicable to ZVSMRCs for improving dynamic performance. Charge control compares the total charge of the switch current to the control voltage to modulate the switching frequency. Since the
