Simplified State‐Trajectory Analysis Method for Dual‐Active‐Bridge DC‐DC Converters

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The figures show the theoretical principle to use a simple current trajectory to do power transition in a DAB converter. ABSTRACT To facilitate the analysis and design of bidirectional dual‐active‐bridge (DAB) dc‐dc converters, a new and simplified state‐trajectory analysis approach is first proposed in this paper, which reveals the effects of terminal

Dual‐Active‐Bridge LC Resonant DC–DC Converter With an Auxiliary Boost Arm for Battery Energy Storage Systems

open access: yesIET Electrical Systems in Transportation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This study presents a dual‐active‐bridge (DAB) LC resonant DC–DC converter for battery energy storage systems. The proposed converter adds an auxiliary bridge arm to the traditional full‐bridge (FB) LC resonant converter as a boost arm. It features two efficient operating modes: a charging low‐gain (CLG) mode and a discharging high‐gain (DHG) mode.

Wide Load Range ZVS Three-level DC-DC Converter: Modular Structure, Redundancy Ability, and Reduced Filters Size

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In future dc distributed power systems, high performance high voltage dc-dc converters with redundancy ability are welcome. However, most existing high voltage dc-dc converters do not have redundancy ability. To solve this problem, a wide load range zero-

Regenerative Braking Energy Recovery From a Platoon Powered by a DC Electric Road System

open access: yesIET Electrical Systems in Transportation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Electric road systems (ERSs) are anticipated to be major energy consumers. The energy efficiency of an ERS can be significantly improved by implementing the practice of driving electric vehicles (EVs) in closely spaced platoons. This driving configuration effectively reduces the drag coefficient of all vehicles within the platoon, resulting in a ...

Rapid Electric Vehicle Charging Based on Silicon Carbide Enabled Medium Voltage DC Transmission Systems

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
Rapid (electric vehicle (EV) charging based on a medium‐voltage DC transmission system has been assessed as an alternative to the existing AC system that stresses low‐voltage distribution transformers. Modular multi‐level converters have been identified as the most efficient and reliable converter topology to implement the converters.
