Novel Functional Materials via 3D Printing by Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective systematically analyzes strategies for incorporating functionalities into 3D‐printed materials via Vat Photopolymerization (VP). It explores the spectrum of achievable functionalities in recently reported novel materials—such as conductive, energy‐storing, biodegradable, stimuli‐responsive, self‐healing, shape‐memory, biomaterials, and

s‐Orbital Mediated Metavalent Bonding Enables State‐Of‐The‐Art n‐Type AgBiSe2 Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metavalent bonding (MVB) underpins the exceptional property portfolio of chalcogenides. Typical MVB solids are mainly found in p‐bonded systems. This work reveals that MVB can also be formed with s‐p orbital interactions upon forming a single‐electron σ‐bond, as exemplified in AgBiSe2.

Life Cycle oriented Designing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Many life cycle assessments (LCAs) are performed on existing products. However, it is of more interest to take environmental considerations into account when designing new products.

Atomic‐Level Ionic Displacement Polarization Enhanced Piezocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two isomorphic COFs were synthesized and compared, including an amphoteric COF (SQ‐TAPT) and a neutral COF (PDA‐TAPT). The ionic bonds in SQ‐TAPT introduce more Born effective charges, thereby enhancing its ionic displacement polarization. Experimental and theoretical calculations demonstrated that SQ‐TAPT exhibited higher polarity and stronger ...

Framework for Low Carbon Precinct Design from a Zero Waste Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Waste Resources, 2013
The consumption-driven society today produces an enormous amount of waste, which puts pressures on land, pollutes the environment and creates economic burden. ‘Zero waste’ concept, a whole system approach aiming to achieve no waste along the materials flow through society, hasbecome one of the most visionary concepts for tackling growing waste problems.

Concepts and methods in optimization of integrated LC VCOs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Underlying physical mechanisms controlling the noise properties of oscillators are studied. This treatment shows the importance of inductance selection for oscillator noise optimization. A design strategy centered around an inductance selection scheme is

Metal–Organic Frameworks for Gaseous Pollutant Management: From Capture to Neutralization and Reutilization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review maps how MOFs can manage hazardous gases by combining adsorption, neutralization, and reutilization, enabling sustainable air‐pollution control. Covering chemical warfare agent simulants, SO2, NOx, NH3, H2S, and volatile organic compounds, it highlights structure‐guided strategies that boost selectivity, water tolerance, and cycling ...
