On Zeros of a Polynomial in a Finite Grid [PDF]

open access: yesCombinatorics, Probability and Computing, 2018
A 1993 result of Alon and Füredi gives a sharp upper bound on the number of zeros of a multivariate polynomial over an integral domain in a finite grid, in terms of the degree of the polynomial. This result was recently generalized to polynomials over an arbitrary commutative ring, assuming a certain ‘Condition (D)’ on the grid which holds vacuously ...

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving

On the Coefficients and Zeros of a Polynomial

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 1999
In continuation of work by \textit{Q. I. Rahman} [Can. Math. Bull. 13, 541-542 (1970; Zbl 0205.37802)]\ and \textit{H. Alzer} [J. Approximation Theory 81, 421-424 (1995; Zbl 0837.30007)], the author offers two results on complex polynomials of the form \(p(z)=b_{0}+b_{1}z+b_{2}z^{2}+\cdots +b_{n}z^{n}\) with \(b_{0}=1.\) One states that the absolute ...

Microstructure Modification of Additively Manufactured Mo–9Si–8B by Annealing and Its Effects on High‐Temperature Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Postbuild annealing systematically modifies the phase fractions and morphology of EB‐PBF processed Mo–9Si–8B. Quantitative microstructure–property correlations reveal how controlled phase evolution enhances high‐temperature compressive strength and creep resistance.

Generalized -Euler Numbers and Polynomials Associated with -Adic -Integral on

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2012
We generalize the Euler numbers and polynomials by the generalized -Euler numbers and polynomials . We observe an interesting phenomenon of “scattering” of the zeros of the generalized -Euler polynomials in complex plane.

Polarization‐Dependent Synaptic‐Like Electro‐Optical Response in Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs) offer fast, tunable polarization and low‐voltage operation but suffer from poor polarization retention at zero field. Semiconductor‐modified FNLCs enhance polarization retention and exhibit short‐ and long‐term electro‐optical responses, while also supporting spike‐type signal integrations.

On Polynomials with a Prescribed Zero

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1994
Let \(p(z)= \sum^ n_{j=0} a_ j z^ j\) be a polynomial of degree at most ``\(n\)'' vanishing at \(z= \zeta\) \((\zeta^{n+1}\neq 1)\). The authors use Lagrange's interpolation formula to prove that for every complex number \(\lambda\) and \(k= 0,1,2,\dots,n\), \[ \begin{multlined} a_ k= \bigl(1/k!(n- k+ 1)\bigr)\sum^{n-k}_{j=0} p^{(k)}\bigl(e^{2\pi ji/(n-

Two‐Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) of High Mechanical and Optical Quality 3D Silica Glass Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐photon grayscale lithography (2GL) enables high‐speed and precise 3D printing of thermolyzed silica glass microstructures with optical‐grade surface quality, high quality factors, and mechanical strength utilizing a custom‐made pre‐glass resist based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified with a high‐sensitivity Norrish type II ...
