Moments of the Dedekind zeta function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study analytic aspects of the Dedekind zeta function of a Galois extension. Specifically, we are interested in its mean values. In the first part of this thesis we give a formula for the second moment of the Dedekind zeta function of a quadratic ...

The Influence of Magnetic Fields on Electrophoretic Processes in Magnetic Colloids with Different Stabilization Mechanisms

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2023
Electrophoretic nanostructuring is a promising approach for the creation of functional surfaces and active layers. The potency of this approach may be further enhanced by additional factors of various natures, such as magnetic fields.

Biomimetic Nanovaccine Integrating Dendritic Cell Exosomes with Tumor Cell Membranes for Sustained Prophylaxis Against Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed DEX/GM, an all‐natural, personalizable hybrid vaccine designed by coating dendritic cell‐derived exosomes (DEX) onto tumor cell membranes (GM) for sustained prophylaxis against glioblastoma (GBM). ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM), one of the most aggressive and lethal brain tumors, remains incurable with a poor clinical prognosis.

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Influence of Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Concentration on their Zeta Potential

open access: yes, 2014
In an attempt to estimate the zeta potential of various metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs) dispersed in water, it is interesting to observe that both the magnitude and the sign of this property depend highly upon their concentration.

V m and ζ-potential of Candida albicans corelate with biofilm formation

open access: yesScientific Reports
Microbial biofilms are known to defend against the host’s immune system and provide resistant to antimicrobial medications. Biofilms can form on various human organ systems spanning the gastrointestinal, respiratory, cardiovascular, and urinary organ ...

The influence of ionic liquids on micellization of sodium dodecyl sulfate in aqueous solutions

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2020
The micellization of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in water and aqueous solutions of NaCl (0.1 M) and three ionic liquids (IL, 0.01 M) with different side-chain length, i.e.

Characterization of kaolin dispersion using acoustic and electroacoustic spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mining and Metallurgy. Section B: Metallurgy, 2008
The objective of this work is the investigation of the kaolin dispersion by the ultrasonic techniques. In contact with aqueous solution clay minerals show cation - exchange properties and certain degree of dissolution or rather selective leaching of ...

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,
