The voltage-controlled compensation ramp: A new waveshaping technique for power factor correctors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) (27. 2008. Austin, Texas)This paper deals with a new control method for Power Factor Correctors. Control is carried out by a standard IC controller for peak current-mode dc-dc converters, with only an ...

Microsphere Autolithography—A Scalable Approach for Arbitrary Patterning of Dielectric Spheres

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MicroSphere Autolithography (µSAL) enables scalable fabrication of patchy particles with customizable surface motifs. Focusing light through dielectric microspheres creates well defined, tunable patches via a conformal poly(dopamine) photoresist. Nearly arbitrary surface patterns can be achieved, with the resolution set by the index contrast between ...

Synergistic Fluorine and Cyanide Co‐Modification to Reinforce Photoinduced Excitons Formation and Transfer for Efficient CO2 Photoreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An advanced F‐doped and ─CN group co‐modified FCCN is developed. Due to the synergistic effects of co‐modification in promoting photogenerated exciton generation, enhancing charge kinetics, expanding active interfacial areas, and optimizing CO2 interfacial reactions, the FCCN photocatalyst demonstrates excellent catalytic performance and high ...

DBT degradation enhancement by decorating Rhodococcus erythropolis IGST8 with magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Biodesulfurization (BDS) of dibenzothiophene (DBT) was carried out by Rhodococcus erythropolis IGST8 decorated with magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles, synthesized in-house by a chemical method, with an average size of 45-50 nm, in order to facilitate the post-

Bimetallic Nanoreactor Activates cGAS‐STING Pathway via mtDNA Release for Cancer Metalloimmunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

Giant Magnetoresistive Biosensors for Time-Domain Magnetorelaxometry: A Theoretical Investigation and Progress Toward an Immunoassay. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Magnetorelaxometry (MRX) is a promising new biosensing technique for point-of-care diagnostics. Historically, magnetic sensors have been primarily used to monitor the stray field of magnetic nanoparticles bound to analytes of interest for immunoassays ...

Comparison of the photoluminescence properties of semiconductor quantum dots and non-blinking diamond nanoparticles. Observation of the diffusion of diamond nanoparticles in living cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Long-term observations of photoluminescence at the single-molecule level were until recently very diffcult, due to the photobleaching of organic ?uorophore molecules.
