Cross‐Modal Fusion for 3D Point Cloud and 2D Images in Bridge Defect Inspection
As the service life of bridges increases, timely and accurate identification of cracks is essential for ensuring structural safety and durability. Traditional inspection methods often rely on 2D images, which lack reliable depth information for assessing the severity and progression of defects.

Image‐Based Estimation of Porosity and Tortuosity in Fibrous Acoustic Absorbers
A rapid, non‐destructive workflow estimates porosity and tortuosity in fibrous acoustic materials from simple micrographs. Using image segmentation and geometric descriptors, the method achieves sub‐0.3% porosity error and consistent tortuosity ranking, enabling fast material screening and inline quality control without laboratory measurements ...

Automated delineation and morphometry of unclassified subglacial bedforms
We present an automated tool for mapping and analysing subglacial bedforms using volumetric obscurance, without classification. Tested on ArcticDEM data, the method produces bedform outlines with 75% correspondence compared to manually digitized maps.

Solar Transient Recognition Using Deep Learning (STRUDL) for Heliospheric Imager Data
Abstract Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are space weather phenomena capable of causing significant disruptions to both space‐ and ground‐based infrastructure. The timely and accurate detection and prediction of CMEs is a crucial steps toward implementing strategies to minimize the impacts of such events. CMEs are commonly observed using coronagraphs and
