Synthesis and Formulation of Zinc-strengthened Calcium Phosphate Polycarboxylate Cements
Journal of Composite Materials, 2006A novel zinc-strengthened calcium phosphate polycarboxylate cement modified with amino acid has been developed. Synthesis of glass fillers and monomers as well as polymers and formulation of the cements are described. The effects of silanization, sintering, glass composition, grafting ratio of the methacrylate groups, molecular weight, tartaric acid ...

Encapsulated verses hand-mixed zinc phosphate dental cement
Biomaterials, 1999Zinc phosphate cements are commonly supplied as two components, powder and liquid, and the proportions of the constituents are determined by operator experience. A capsulated system which is mechanically mixed has been marketed and this study investigated the performance of the encapsulated cement system.

Fluoride uptake by enamel from zinc phosphate cement containing stannous fluoride.
The Journal of the American Dental Association (1939), 1971The fluoride concentrations in enamel blocks that were cemented to an orthodontic band with a zinc phosphate cement containing 10% stannous fluoride were significantly higher than those in control enamel blocks or blocks that received a conventional zinc

Physical Properties of Zinc Phosphate Cement Prepared on a Frozen Slab
Journal of Dental Research, 1978The physical properties of a zinc phosphate cement prepared on a room temperature slab were compared to those of the cement prepared on a frozen slab. Solubility, compressive strength, and setting time of cements prepared on both types of slabs were within the limits set by A.D.A. Specification No. 8.

Rapid mixing of zinc phosphate cement for fixed prosthodontic procedures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1992This study was done to determine the efficacy of rapidly mixing zinc phosphate cement in conjunction with fixed prosthodontic procedures. Properties measured included rate of pH change and temperature increase, film thickness, and setting time. The rapid mix technique in conjunction with the frozen glass slab resulted in a faster elevation of the pH ...

The effect of cold temperature mixing on the properties of zinc phosphate cement.
, 1976A series of proprietary zinc phosphate cements were evaluated after mixing on glass slabs at three different temperatures, 23 degrees, 6 degrees and -10 degrees C.
