Synthesis and Structural Characterization of Potentially Topologically Non-Trivial Zintl Phases ACaBi (A = K, Rb, Cs)

open access: yesInorganics
For the first time, the ternary Zintl phases RbCaBi and CsCaBi have been synthesized and structurally characterized via single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods.

Exploring Exemplary Optoelectronic and Charge Transport Properties of KCuX(X=Se,Te)

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
We report the electronic structure, optical and charge transport properties of the unexplored ternary Zintl phases KCuX(X=Se,Te) from the first principles calculations employing the full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave (FLAPW) method with the ...

Magnetic and structural effects of partial Ce substitution in Y b14MnSb11

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2015
Single crystals of Y b14−xCexMnSb11 were grown from tin metal as a flux solvent with a maximum Ce incorporation of 0.6. The phases with x ∼ 0.1–0.6 crystallize in the tetragonal Ca14AlSb11 structure type with I41/acd space group.

Electrical resistivity of some Zintl phase and the precursors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Resistivity measurements have been performed for electric characterization of the compounds Ba{sub 5}Sb{sub 3} and Ba{sub 5}Sb{sub 3}Cl, both with the Mn{sub 5}Si{sub 3} structure type, along with Ca{sub 5}Bi{sub 3} and Ca{sub 5}Bi{sub 3}F, both with the {beta}-Yb{sub 5}Sb{sub 3} structure type.

β-Yb2CdSb2—A Complex Non-Centrosymmetric Zintl Polymorph

open access: yesCrystals
The ternary Zintl phase, Yb2CdSb2, was discovered to exist in two different polymorphic forms. In addition to the orthorhombic α-Yb2CdSb2 (space group Cmc21) known for its excellent thermoelectric properties, we present the synthesis and characterization

Perspective: Web-based machine learning models for real-time screening of thermoelectric materials properties

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2016
The experimental search for new thermoelectric materials remains largely confined to a limited set of successful chemical and structural families, such as chalcogenides, skutterudites, and Zintl phases.

Structure and chemical bonding in high-pressure potassium silver alloys

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry
The high-pressure structures of K-Ag alloys were examples of pressure-induced electron transfer from the electropositive potassium to the electronegative silver.
