The Osmium Isotope Signature of Phanerozoic Large Igneous Provinces
Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact
An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Tectonic history of the South Tannuol Fault Zone (Tuva region of the northern Central Asian Orogenic Belt, Russia) : constraints from multi-method geochronology [PDF]
In this study, we present zircon U/Pb, plagioclase and K-feldspar Ar-40/Ar-39 and apatite fission track (AFT) data along the South Tannuol Fault Zone (STFZ).

Recent application of zircon U-Pb geochronology has contributed to deciphering the evolution of caldera systems worldwide. However, in the Tohoku region, NE Japan, this is not the case, although it is well studied as a typical island arc subduction ...

The first results of U-Pb LA-ICP-MS dating of 150 detrital zircon grains from the Upper Permian sandstone of the Boyevaya Gora section (Orenburg region, the Southern Cis-Urals) are presented. 95 conditional zircon U-Pb isotopic dates form two age peaks –

U–Pb dating for zircons from granitic rocks in southwestern Cambodia
U-Pb dating was conducted for zircons from a total of 14 samples from 13 granite bodies in southwestern Cambodia using LA-ICP-MS. The granitic rock samples were collected from southwestern Cambodia, southwest of the Mae Ping Fault extending from northwest Cambodia via Tonle Sap Lake to southern Vietnam.

U‐Pb dating of zircon by LA‐ICP‐MS [PDF]
In this study we used LA‐ICP‐MS (laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry) to determine U‐Pb ages of 5 zircon samples of known age (∼1800 Ma to ∼50 Ma) in order to determine the reproducibility, precision, and accuracy of this geochronologic technique.

Bulk inclusion micro-zircon U-Pb geochronology: a new tool to date low-grade metamorphism [PDF]
AbstractDating low‐grade metamorphism is challenging since such rocks commonly lack suitable target minerals for acquiring pressure–temperature–time–deformation (P–T–t–d) data. Herein a new geochronological method termed ‘bulk inclusion dating’ is applied to a chloritoid‐bearing schist from the Staufen‐Höllengebirge Nappe (SHN, Austroalpine Unit ...

U-Pb SHRIMP zircon dating of Grenvillian metamorphism in Western Sierras Pampeanas (Argentina) : correlation with the Arequipa-Antofalla craton and constraints on the extent of the Precordillera Terrane [PDF]
The Sierras Pampeanas of Argentina, the largest outcrop of pre-Andean crystalline basement in southern South America, resulted from plate interactions along the proto-Andean margin of Gondwana, from as early as Mesoproterozoic to Late Paleozoic times (e ...
