ABSTRACT The Pinerolo‐Sanfront Unit (PSU), the structurally lowest tectonic unit of the Dora‐Maira Massif (Western Alps), has been regarded as a monocyclic unit composed of Permo‐Carboniferous sediments and Permian granitoids that were metamorphosed during the Alpine orogeny.
