Reliability and properties of core materials for all-ceramic dental restorations

open access: yesJapanese Dental Science Review, 2008
Various core materials have been used as all-ceramic dental restorations. Since many foreign zirconia product systems were introduced to the Japanese dental market in the past few years, the researches and the papers on zirconia for ceramic biomaterials ...

Hybrid Organic−Inorganic Solids That Show Shape Selectivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Hybrid organic−inorganic solids featuring millimolar/gram concentrations of intracrystalline organic moieties and shape-selectivity are synthesized. Pure-silica zeolite beta crystals are coated with zirconia and treated in aqueous sodium hydroxide to ...

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

First-principles theoretical evaluation of crystalline zirconia and hafnia as gate oxides for Si microelectronics

open access: yes, 2002
Parameters determining the performance of the crystalline oxides zirconia (ZrO_2) and hafnia (HfO_2) as gate insulators in nanometric Si electronics are estimated via ab initio calculations of the energetics, dielectric properties, and band alignment of ...

Orthogonal Ionic Liquid‐Based Extraction Strategy Enables Amyloid‐Specific Profiling of Aggregate Proteome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An orthogonal ionic‐liquid extraction (Orth‐iEA) enables selective isolation of amyloid fibrils. TMGBF4 disrupts hydrogen‐bonded β‐sheet networks to solubilize amyloid aggregates, whereas C12ImCl interacts with hydrophobic regions of non‐amyloid proteins.

Resistance to Fracture of Two All-Ceramic Crown Materials Following Endodontic Access [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Statement of problem There is currently no protocol for managing endodontic access openings for all-ceramic crowns. A direct restorative material is generally used to repair the access opening, rendering a repaired crown as the definitive restoration ...

Plasticity of nanocrystalline zirconia ceramics and composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The deformation strain rate of nanocrystalline Y-TZP shows an increase by a factor 4 if the grain size decreases from 200 to 100 nm. Real superplastic deformation (strain rate > 10−4 s−1) is observed in these materials at relative low temperature (1100 ...
