Nature of hydrous zirconia and sulfated hydrous zirconia
Catalysis Today, 1994Abstract The structure of crystalline hydrous zirconias and their methods of formation are described. A mechanism for the hydrolytic polymerization of Zr IV to obtain the several forms of hydrous oxide is presented. The method by which sulfate ion binds to the surface of zirconia particles is explored.

Porous zirconia or zirconium-containing particles, methods of making such particles and methods of using such particles including modifications to the surface of the particles are described. The method comprises heating zirconia particles to provide a substantially homogeneously liquid melt, quenching the particles of melt to effect spinodal ...

Zirconia in biomedical applications
Expert Review of Medical Devices, 2016The use of zirconia in medicine and dentistry has rapidly expanded over the past decade, driven by its advantageous physical, biological, esthetic, and corrosion properties. Zirconia orthopedic hip replacements have shown superior wear-resistance over other systems; however, risk of catastrophic fracture remains a concern.

Retrievability of implant-supported zirconia restorations cemented on zirconia abutments
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2018Retrievability of implant-supported restorations is important. Data are lacking for cemented zirconia crowns on zirconia abutments. The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the influence of different cements and marginal discrepancy on the retrievability of implant-supported zirconia crowns.

Plasma-sprayed zirconia electrolytes
Solid State Ionics, 1988Yttria stabilized zirconia is widely used as an electrolyte in electrochemical devices such as high temperature solid oxide fuel cells (HTSOFC) (1) and oxygen sensors (2). In order to reduce the ohmic resistance it is interesting to obtain electrolyte layers as thin as possible.
