Optimization on Tribological Behaviour of AA7075/Zirconium Boride Composites Using Taguchi Technique
The impact of wear factors on composite materials is examined in this article. Stir casting was used to produce AA7075 alloys with varied nano-zirconium boride weight ratios. The dry sliding wear test was done utilizing pin-on-disc test equipment.

Formation features of composite electrochemical nickel and nanostructured zirconium boride coatings
Introduction. The electrodeposition of composite electrochemical coatings from electrolyte-colloid nickel plating containing ultradisperse zirconium boride powder is studied. The work objectives are as follows: to study mechanical-and-physical properties

Characterisation and high temperature mechanical properties of zirconium boride-based materials
Two different ZrB2-based materials were produced by hot pressing: pure ZrB2 and ZrB2+4wt.% Ni. The relative densities of the two materials were 86.5 and 98.0%, respectively. Several physical and mechanical properties were measured in ambient air. From these data it appears that the porosity of 13.5% of pure ZrB2 strongly affects the properties. However

Nuclear-optical converters for detecting intense neutron [PDF]
In the design of nuclear-optical converters (NOC) for detecting intense neutron fields (fluxes over 1015 cm–2·s–1), it is proposed to use hybrid gas ionization chambers (IC), in which electrical and optical neutron detecting methods are combined.

Creep deformation behavior during densification of ZrB2-SiBCN ceramics with ZrO2 additive
ZrB2-SiBCN ceramics with ZrO2 additive are hot-pressed under a constant applied pressure. The densification behavior of the composites is studied in a view of creep deformation by means of the Bernard-Granger and Guizard model.

Zirconium alloyed tungsten borides synthesized by spark plasma sintering [PDF]
Abstract Tungsten borides (WB x ; x = 2.5 or 4.5) with an increasing substitution of tungsten by zirconium from 0 to 24 at.% were synthesized by spark plasma sintering (SPS) for the first time. The influence of the holding time (2.5–30 min) on the densification behavior, microstructure evolution and development of ...

Plasma-transferred arc-welded composite hardfacings with ZrB2 and TiC reinforcements [PDF]
The traditional approach to prolonging the lifetime of wear parts is to use wear-resistant materials. One such material is hardfacing, which, in addition to its primary function, contributes to sustainability objectives by preventing the failure of wear ...
