Nanostructures from Zirconium Diboride and Alumina Ceramics
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2010In this paper, we describe the observation of nanostructure formation under microwave processing of zirconium diboride powder with aluminum oxide. These nanostructures appear to be formed from arcing resulting from a microwave‐induced electric field across conductive ZrB 2

Sintering of alloys of zirconium diboride with molybdenum disilicide
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1966The sintering of zirconium diboride with molybdenum disilicide is accompanied by the formation of a solid solution based on zirconium diboride, formation of a liquid phase at temperatures above 1800°C, and partial vaporization of silicon in the ZrB2+15% MoSi2 alloy.

The mechanism of shrinkage of zirconium diboride during sintering
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1966The sintering shrinkage of zirconium diboride, like that of other brittle materials, is the same in the direction of application of the compacting force and in the radial direction. At temperatures of up to 1700° C, there is a slight, practically linear dependence of shrinkage on holding time, which is due solely to the ordering of the grain boundaries.
