Abstract Vapour phase catalysis of the dehydration of cyclohexanol, nerol and geraniol and of the thermal rearrangement of α -pinene by unsubstituted zirconium phosphates has been compared with similar catalysis effected by organically pillared zirconium phosphates and with catalysis by alumina. Many of the observed differences in reaction rates can

Polymerization of aniline on copper zirconium phosphate and a mixed zirconium phosphonate
Polyhedron, 1994Abstract Oxidative polymerization of aniline was performed using both CuZr(PO 4 ) 2 (CuZrP) and Zr[O 3 P(CH 2 ) 3 COOH] 0.75 (O 3 POH) 1.25 [ZrP(bt) 0.75 (OH) 1.25 ] as catalysts. In the CuZrP reaction, the non-conducting emeraldine base form of polyaniline (PANI) formed on the surfaces of the phosphate microcrystals. When exposed to HCl, the solid

Lamellar zirconium phosphonates containing pendant sulphonic acid groups
Polyhedron, 1982Abstract The versatile sulphonic acid group has been introduced into the family of interlamellar anchored materials. Zirconium bis -3-sulphopropylphosphonate is an example of an aliphatic acid. Zirconium bis -2-(sulphophenyl)ethylphosphonate is an example with an aromatic sulphonic acid group.

Selective Capture of Phosphopeptides by Zirconium Phosphonate-Magnetic Nanoparticles
2011Immobilized metal affinity chromatography is a widely used method for the enrichment of phosphopeptides from proteolytic digests prior to mass spectrometric analysis. Here, we describe the selective enrichment of phosphopeptides from tryptic digests of proteins (α- and β-caseins) by zirconium phosphonate-magnetic Fe(3)O(4)/SiO(2) (core/shell ...

Starch‐based nanocomposites reinforced with layered zirconium phosphonate
Polymer Composites, 2010AbstractA new type of layered zirconium glycine‐N,N‐dimethylphosphonate (ZGDMP), with enlarged interlayer d‐spacing and a polar carboxylate group (COO–), was prepared and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). ZGDMP was intercalated by n‐butylamine which further

Zirconium phosphonate sorbents with tunable structure and function
Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2017Abstract Porous zirconium phosphonate materials have been produced via template-free hydrothermal synthesis of a zirconium precursor and amino tris(methylenephosphonic acid). To provide insights into the final structure and function of these materials and how the material properties can be influenced by the synthesis parameters, a variety of samples ...

Palladium Porphyrin Containing Zirconium Phosphonate Langmuir−Blodgett Films
Chemistry of Materials, 1999The substituted tetraphenylporphyrins palladium 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(2‘,3‘,5‘,6‘-tetrafluorophenyl-4‘-octadecyloxyphosphonic acid)porphyrin (16) and palladium 5,10,15-tris(2‘,6‘-dichlorophenyl)-20-(2‘,3‘,5‘,6‘-tetrafluorophenyl-4‘-octadecyloxyphosphonic acid)porphyrin (17) have been studied as Langmuir monolayers and as zirconium phosphonate Langmuir ...

New Approach to Oligonucleotide Microarrays Using Zirconium Phosphonate-Modified Surfaces
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2004A new approach to oligonucleotide arrays is demonstrated that utilizes zirconium phosphonate-derivatized glass slides. The active slides are prepared by binding Zr(4+) to surfaces terminated with organophosphonate groups previously deposited using either Langmuir-Blodgett or self-assembled monolayer methods.

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1999
Abstract The N,N′-bis(benzyl phosphonic acid)-3,4,9,10-perylene (dicarboximide) (BPPI) has been known as a photoconducting material in xerography and its layer-by-layer growth with Zr4+ ion as a self-assembled multilayer film has been studied. We describe a method for measuring the relative surface coverage of self-assembled zirconium-BPPI monolayer on

Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2005
Abstract Novel bioactive materials are prepared by the intercalation of proteins in the galleries of α-Zirconium phosphonates. α-Zirconium carboxymethylphosphonate (α-Zr(O3PCH2COOH)2 · xH2O), (α-ZrCMP), and α-Zirconium carboxyethylphosphonate (α-Zr(O3PCH2CH2COOH)2 · xH2O), (α-ZrCEP) indicated distinct affinities for four different proteins.
