Some zn-1 terraces from zn power-sequences, n being an odd prime power [PDF]
A terrace for Zm is a particular type of sequence formed from the m elements of Zm. For m odd, many procedures are available for constructing power-sequence terraces for Zm; each terrace of this sort may be partitioned into segments, of which one ...

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Zn-fortified cereal grains in field-grown barley by enhanced root cytokinin breakdown
Zinc (Zn) is an essential element in human nutrition. The concentration of Zn in cereals, which is a staple food in developing countries, is often too low thus contributing to Zn malnutrition in nearly two billion people worldwide.

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Microstructure of Al-Zn and Zn-Al Alloys
The change of microstructure of the title alloys with concentration, temperature and applied thermal treatment was studied in situ by XRD. The alloys, having the Zn atomic fraction, x(Zn), from 0.03 to 0.62, were subjected to: (i) rapid quenching from a temperature, Tt, higher than the solid-solution tem-perature, Tss, in water at RT (samples WQ); (ii)

Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...
